Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Develop geospatial datasets to map climate migrants and vulnerable areas affected by climate events such as cyclones, floods, and droughts.
∎ Conduct spatial analysis of climate risk factors and their impact on health outcomes, including TB, Malaria, HIV, and climate-induced diseases.
∎ Collaborate with IEDCR and national programs to recommend GIS-based variables for integration into an early warning system.
∎ Support the upgrade and development of an online platform featuring a live data dashboard for real-time climate-health risk mapping.
∎ Perform data analysis to create a comprehensive list of climate-vulnerable populations and areas for detailed profiling and intervention planning.
∎ Train Community Health Workers (CHWs) in GIS-enabled data collection and ensure accurate geospatial data integration through relevant mobile application.
∎ Analyze climate and weather data in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team (entomologist, meteorologist, and epidemiologist) to predict climate-related health risks.
∎ Generate periodic reports and visualizations for stakeholders to inform program interventions and policy decisions. SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organization and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.·
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
∎ With the support of The Global Fund, The Climate Change and Health Project aims to raise awareness about the health impacts of climate change, particularly the rise in vector-borne and communicable diseases. By engaging local communities, health authorities, and relevant stakeholders, the project focuses on preventive measures, early warning systems, and capacity building to reduce the health risks associated with climate change. Activities include advocacy campaigns, training for health workers, seasonal health updates, and the identification and elimination of disease breeding grounds.
∎ The project strives to enhance community resilience and promote sustainable health practices in the face of climate challenges.
