Job Context:
∎ Rupantar, a development organization has been working in Disaster Management & Climate Change adaptation, Democracy & Political empowerment, Popular Media & Folk Theatre, Children & Youth rights and Peace & Tolerance. Rupantar is now inviting applications from suitable experienced and interested candidate to work coastal areas for filling up the following job vacancies to work in a climate change focused project supported by CARE Bangladesh dealing with Climate Risk Mitigation in Bagerhat District.
∎ Project Name : Community Led Innovation for Climate Risk Mitigation in Bangladesh - CLIMB
∎ Job Location : Sarankhola Upazilla in Bagerhat District
∎ Project Duration: 1st August, 2022 to 31st August, 2025
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Will be responsible for implementation of all District/Upazila/union level activities. S/he will be assisted by the Project officer- O&M WASH & Field Facilitator.
∎ S/he is responsible for ensuring all project activities e.g. Local Knowledge & Agency building, Innovation, community mobilization and capacity building, CVCA-CAP are implemented according to the work plan.
∎ Will regularly coordinate with the CARE's TC- CBA-Water management and Sr. Program Officer(SPO)- CBA, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Livelihood (CBA_AFFL) to ensure agreed Work-plan implementation, generate KML documents such as developing training modules, CVCA/CAP tools etc.
∎ Supervise the Project officer- O&M WASH and field facilitators for proper and timely implementation of the activities.
∎ The Project Officer will submit report inputs to Project Manager. All Project Officer will be reportable to Project Manager.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 03 years' relevant working experience in any National/International NGO;
∎ Preference will be given to candidates having prior working experience in DRR and Climate Justice project,
∎ Good community mobilizing, consultation and session facilitation skills
∎ Coordination and maintain liaison with communities, civil society groups and local stakeholders including Government
∎ Any other tasks assigned by supervisor/ management.
∎ Core Competences:
∎
∎ Familiar with bio-physical and socio-economic condition of Bagerhat or similar district
∎ Ability to work in a team with good interpersonal skills.
∎ Ability to prioritize activities to act and decide promptly.
∎ Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point);
∎ Good verbal and written communication skills in local language, English and Bengali;
∎ Pro-active and participatory decision-making and problem-solving;
∎ Ability to communicate with people from different cultures and backgrounds;
∎ Experience in Cash for work (CFW) modality through Mobile Money Transfer (MMT) will be prioritized
∎ Good understanding on issues related to gender equity and protection
Salary:
∎ An amount of 35,000/- per month with 5% yearly increment
