Responsibilities & Context:

Import Documentation:

  • Preparing PI, LC/Amendment proposals, and processing LCAF for management approval.
  • Proper documentation of Banking & Import as per requirements.
  • Correspondence with banks regarding LC/PI, amendment issues and closely monitoring LC opening process and LC Payment.
  • Receiving the Proforma Invoice from the concerned department and file up all LC/ PI copies and keeping all related files and documents for future use.
  • Preparing and reviewing import documents such as proforma invoices, purchase orders, letters of credit (LCs), bills of lading, and customs declarations.
  • Ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate and compliant with Bangladesh customs regulations.
  • Preparing Invoice, Packing List and related documents for shipping Guarantee.

Insurance and Policy:

  • Regularly updating the insurance register and maintaining accurate import registers/statements.
  • Processing Insurance Cover Note and taking Insurance Policy timely once the goods need to release from port.
  • Reviewing and processing premium bills.
  • Handling refund claims and obtaining bank sanctions.

Customs Clearance:

  • Preparing customs duty Bills.
  • Staying updated on changes to customs laws and procedures and coordinating with C&F agents when necessary.

Logistics Coordination:

  • Advising on the Bill of Lading (BL) for shipment and verifying shipping documents.
  • Arranging shipping document for imported goods.
  • Tracking shipment progress

Payment Processing:

  • Processing imports payments to suppliers according to agreed terms, including LCs and wire transfers.
  • Monitoring and reconciling import invoices with payment details.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the supervisors.
