Job Context:
Spectrum Engineering Consortium (Pvt) Ltd. is looking for a Senior System Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in enterprise environments. The position is responsible for installing, configuring, administering, and maintaining enterprise server infrastructure, virtualization platforms, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), enterprise storage, DNS, web servers, Active Directory, Exchange Server, and Commvault backup solutions. The role also includes infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting, security implementation, technical documentation, customer support, and 24×7 on-call support while working closely with customers and OEM vendors.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Install, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise server infrastructure, including Oracle, Dell, and HP servers.

2. Manage and troubleshoot Oracle Solaris, Linux, and Windows Server operating systems in production environments. Deep knowledge of Exadata, Oracle ZFS and Oracle PCA hardware, patching and firmware upgrade will give advantages.

3. Administer, and optimize virtualization platforms, including Oracle Private Cloud Appliance (PCA) and VMware.

4. Provision, manage, and monitor cloud infrastructure and services on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

5. Administer and support enterprise storage solutions, including HP, Dell and NetApp storage systems, covering storage provisioning, LUN management, NFS/CIFS shares, snapshots, replication, and performance monitoring.

6. Install, configure, and maintain Linux-based BIND DNS servers, ensuring reliable DNS resolution, zone management, and high availability.

7. Install, configure, and troubleshoot Apache HTTP Server, Apache Tomcat, and NGINX web servers, supporting web application deployment, performance tuning, and security best practices.

8. Administer Microsoft Active Directory services, including Domain Controllers, DNS, Group Policy, and user/group management.

9. Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft Exchange Server to ensure secure and reliable email services.

10. Manage Commvault backup and recovery solutions, including backup policy configuration, monitoring, restoration, disaster recovery, and backup infrastructure maintenance.

11. Perform server, virtualization, storage, and cloud infrastructure monitoring, performance tuning, patch management, capacity planning, and preventive maintenance to ensure high availability.

12. Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues across servers, virtualization, storage, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications while meeting defined SLAs.

13. Collaborate closely with customers, internal teams, and OEM vendors (Oracle, Dell, HP, VMware, NetApp, and Commvault) to troubleshoot critical issues and deliver effective technical solutions.

14. Lead infrastructure deployment, migration, upgrade, and maintenance activities while minimizing service disruption and ensuring business continuity.

15. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, implementation reports, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and operational knowledge base articles.

16. Implement infrastructure security best practices through system hardening, patch management, access control, and regular health checks.

17. Provide 24×7 on-call and remote technical support during critical incidents and emergency situations to ensure uninterrupted business operations.

18. Provide daily, monthly and incident reports according to the customer format.
