Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Senior Program Manager - Child Protection is effectively the Head of program, has the overall responsibility for leading the program operations, scale-up and award implementation of the CPiE response in Cox's Bazar.
∎ The Senior Program Manager will report to the Director - CP&CRG Sector. Responsibilities include, establishment and/or strengthening of interventions on to strengthen community based Child Protection mechanism, System strengthening, partner led approach and line management responsibility with delegated budget authority.
∎ The Senior Program Manager will provide day-to-day management, supervision, guidance to the entire CP Team, lead on sectoral assessment, program design and master budgeting, coordination, and support fundraising, recruitment and procurement.
∎ The Senior Program Manager will ensure that urgent child protection needs (including violence, abuse, child marriage, family separation, trafficking, recruitment and child labour) are prevented and responded to through an effective case management system implemented by SCI.
∎ S/he will establish close linkage with Health service providers to respond to children with MHPSS needs and work closely with senior staff, support fundraising for child protection, including development of high quality concept notes and proposals, and engagement with donors' technical advisers.
∎ S/he will also assist in child protection advocacy activities that target decision-makers at all levels and prepare timely program and donor reports
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 10 years' experience in development sector, preferably in Child Protection/ Emergency response, including 5 years in management position
∎ Significant management or advisor level Child Protection experience working in emergency contexts or fragile states
∎ Previous first phase emergency response experience is essential and strong skills on UASC response, FTR and case management
∎ Demonstrated experience of team management, multi-award management (including budget management and procurement)
∎ Experience in psychosocial support programs for children, MHPSS background a plus
∎ Experience in integrated programming
∎ Ability to identify the main gaps in child protection in the given context to inform a holistic response for children.
∎ Experience in monitoring and evaluating (M&E) child protection programs in emergency, transition and development contexts
∎ Experience in capacity building and in strengthening various duty bearers understanding of and response to child protection.
∎ Experience of working with and supporting local partners
∎ Experience of preparing successful funding proposals for donors
∎ Excellent communication skills in English and ability to write quality reports
∎ Strong influencing skills and experience in advocacy
