Required Qualifications and Experience
At least 3 years of work experience in private sector development, Market Systems Development.
Basic understanding of DCED standards for project review and Inclusive System Development /Market System Development approach for project monitoring.
Basic understanding of RMG sector and ESG data source, data collection and validation processes and reporting standards (e.g., GRI, ESRS, IFRS, Higg FEM, buyer compliance standards).
Hands on experience with dashboard, reporting, data analysis and visualisation tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, Power BI, Tableau).
Basic understanding of how SaaS products operate and digital product development lifecycle is preferred.
Excellent working knowledge of computer applications like MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point).
Ability to manage working relationship with diverse public and private stakeholders.
Excellent analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills.
Background
Swisscontact was established in 1959 as an independent foundation by notable figures from the worlds of commerce and science in Switzerland. It is exclusively involved in international development co-operation and has been carrying out its own and mandated projects since 1961.
Swisscontact’s working principles include inclusive systems development, learning culture, evidence-based adaptive management, and engaging private sector. In addition, the organisation’s sustainable criteria comprise of gender equality and social inclusion, financial capability, environmental responsibility, and good governance.
Swisscontact is currently implementing the PROGRESS project, funded by the Embassies of Sweden and Switzerland. The project is addressing skills development and ESG compliance needs in the RMG sector in Bangladesh. It supports the RMG factories to skill and upskill their existing workers as well as improve their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards. As part of the project's ESG interventions, a feasibility study and prototype were developed to assess market demand, technical requirements, and stakeholder needs for a digital ESG platform. Building on these insights, the TRACE (Technology for Responsible Accountability in Corporate ESG) initiative will run from January 2026 to December 2027.
The initiative will launch a commercially viable platform for Bangladesh's RMG sector to streamline ESG data management. By enabling real-time reporting and matchmaking, the platform aims to drive decarbonisation, strengthen social compliance, and enhance the industry’s global competitiveness and resilience.
Swisscontact is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Senior Officer/ Coordinator, Programme. The incumbent will support the strategic planning, implementation, commercialisation, and long-term sustainability of TRACE, an ESG digital platform for the Ready-Made Garment (RMG) sector. The role will support Senior Manager, Programme in coordinating stakeholder engagement, partnership development, platform adoption, and programme delivery activities, while fostering collaboration among factories, brands, industry associations, technology partners, and other ecosystem actors.
Employment start: As soon as possible.
Contract duration: Initial contract of one year with the possibility of extension till the end of the project.
Place of work: Dhaka, Bangladesh with regular visits to field locations (Gazipur, Narayanganj and Chattogram).
