∎ Link My Gear is an innovative IoT-driven sports telemetry platform designed for skydivers and extreme sports enthusiasts. Our system enables real-time gear tracking, jump data analysis, and post-activity insights, helping athletes improve performance and safety.
∎ We are expanding our platform with a brand-new mobile application — and we need a self-driven Android expert to lead the development from the ground up.
∎ About the Role
∎ We are looking for a Senior Android Developer to build our mobile app from scratch and eventually lead the Android development team. This is a unique opportunity to shape the architecture, set best practices, and work independently while collaborating with a cross-functional team. If you are self-motivated, results-driven, and eager to take ownership, this role is for you.
∎ Responsibilities:
∎ Develop the Android app from the ground up using Kotlin
∎ Design and implement scalable and maintainable architecture
∎ Collaborate with backend and iOS developers to define APIs and ensure seamless integration
∎ Write clean, testable, and efficient code, following best practices
∎ Optimize app performance, security, and scalability
∎ Participate in technical decision-making and long-term roadmap planning
∎ Maintain documentation for architecture, design, and best practices
∎ Work independently while actively communicating progress and blockers
∎ Potential to grow into a leadership role, guiding future Android developers
∎
∎ Requirements:
∎ ✅ 5+ years of experience in Android development
∎ ✅ Strong proficiency in Kotlin (experience with Java is a plus)
∎ ✅ Deep understanding of Android SDK, Jetpack components, MVVM, and Clean Architecture
∎ ✅ Experience with RESTful APIs and integrating with backends (Drupal knowledge is a plus)
∎ ✅ Strong grasp of UI/UX best practices and creating intuitive user experiences
∎ ✅ Hands-on experience with unit testing, CI/CD pipelines, and app store deployment
∎ ✅ Self-motivated, able to work independently, and deliver results with minimal supervision
∎ ✅ Comfortable working in a fully remote environment with daily checkups
∎
∎ Nice to Have:
∎ ➕ Experience with GraphQL, WebSockets, BLE, or real-time data processing
∎ ➕ Background in leading projects or mentoring junior developers
∎ ➕ Experience working with IoT devices or sports telemetry applications
