Job Context:
∎ ICM wishes to support BMS in strengthening its income generation capacity as a Professional Association. As such ICM is seeking to recruit a Resource Mobilization Officer for BMS with a knowledge of midwifery context and an extensive experience and track record of fundraising. The position holder will report to and work closely with the ICM BMS Project Lead and the President in developing and implementing a Resource Mobilization Plan for the Association.
∎ Work schedule: 20 hours per week
∎ Working system:
∎ Prepare a monthly plan
∎ Work according to the plan
∎ Send updates weekly on the updates on the plan utilizing 20 hours a week
∎ Submit report monthly with a timesheet
∎ Duration: This position is planned for 12 months or a year (Jan 2023 to Dec 2023)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Maintain an in-depth, up-to-date knowledge of BMS's strategic priorities to inform grant and partnership fundraising activities
∎ In consultation with BMS Executive Committee and staff members develop a SMART resource mobilization plan (including fundraising, resource mobilization target) for BMS
∎ Identify income generation opportunities for BMS, develop an income generation project plan and implement
∎ Take necessary steps to meet donor compliances, for example: Prepare and submit documents to social welfare and NGOAB registration for BMS, develop adequate policies with support of the executives and project manager of BMS.
∎ Implement BMS's fundraising plan by identifying fundraising opportunities, developing funding pipeline
∎ Identify in-country donors and build relationships with donors
∎ Submit grant applications and raise funds with the first-year fundraising target of $50,000
∎ Work with BMS's National Executive Committee (NEC) and Project Manager to develop strategies to improve
∎ Member engagement and develop member benefits and fee structure to increase revenue from membership
∎ Develop a plan to invest in properties for BMS and implement
∎ Develop partnership with wide range of stakeholders
∎ Develop liaisons and linkages with TV, newspaper and other media

Additional Requirements:
∎ 5 years recent work experience of resource mobilization/fundraising, preferably in the NGO sector
∎ Thorough knowledge and understanding of preparing and reviewing budgets
∎ Experience in developing fundraising and implementing plan
∎ Experience of drafting concept notes and designing and writing grant applications
∎ Demonstrable record of successful fundraising
∎ Excellent attention to detail with specific emphasis on spelling, grammar, proofing and correction
∎ A methodical and organized approach to workload
∎ Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a highly pressured environment
∎ Excellent relationship building skills particularly with stakeholders and colleagues working remotely
∎ Proactive "can do" attitude with good initiative in responding to varied tasks
∎ Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
∎ Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and online meeting platforms (zoom, skype, google meet etc)
∎ Ability to work independently, set priorities and manage competing priorities
∎ Ability to actively contribute within a team-oriented collaborative environment
∎ Experience within an international organization is highly desirable

∎ Business : BMS, the Professional Midwives Association in Bangladesh established in August 2010, registered with ICM as a member in April 2011, Bangladesh government in May 2011 and South Asian Midwife Association (SAMA) in June 2011. In July 2017, the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) of UK and the Bangladesh Midwifery Society (BMS) formed a new twinning relationship as a part of the Strengthening the National Midwifery Programme (SNMP). It receives funding from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Bangladesh in association with the Directorate General of Nursing and Midwifery (DGNM), and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) of Bangladesh. Objectives of the twinning project are to strengthen Bangladesh Midwifery Society (BMS) and to advocate for the midwifery profession and to create demand for midwifery.
