Additional Requirements: - At least 8 years of experience in Retail/ Modern Trade/ Sales Management/ Marketing with at least 2 years of proven leadership track record of managing people.
- Experience in the organized Retail sector will be a plus.
- Strong understanding of sales performance metrics, budgeting, and cost control.
- Experience managing budgets, optimizing costs, and maintaining receivables at acceptable levels.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, working effectively with various departments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for managing internal teams and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities & Context: The Summary:
The Regional Sales Manager will oversee multiple territories and supervise 4-5 Territory Sales Managers to ensure efficient retail operations, meet sales targets, and drive profitability. This role demands strong leadership, operational oversight, and strategic planning to enhance the overall performance and growth of the retail sales network.
Job Description:
- Develop and implement region-level sales strategies to ensure alignment with overall company goals and targets.
- Provide strong leadership and mentorship to Territory Sales Managers, fostering a culture of performance and continuous improvement.
- Guide and support Territory Sales Managers in meeting their sales targets, ensuring operational excellence, and optimizing retail processes.
- Monitor sales performance across assigned area, review performance reports, and collaborate with Territory Sales Managers to devise corrective measures where necessary.
- Identify new market opportunities, drive local market penetration, and increase brand presence across the assigned area.
- Ensure that operational standards in inventory management, credit management, customer service, and merchandising are consistently upheld in all Shops under supervision.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, conducting regular audits to maintain operational efficiency.
- Oversee area-level budgeting and expense management, ensuring Shops operate within their financial constraints.
- Review and approve expense reports from Territory Sales Managers and take necessary action to optimize cost efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, such as local vendors, community leaders, and authorities, to support retail expansion and operations.
- Represent the company at the area level, maintaining positive community and customer relations.
- Conduct market analysis and competitor bench-marking to inform strategic decisions at both the regional and territory levels.
