∎ Age 20 to 35 years
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Use imaging technology such as X-rays, CT (computed tomography), MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), and fluoroscopy to capture diagnostic images.
∎ Ensure equipment is functioning properly and safely.
∎ Explain procedures to patients and answer their questions to reduce anxiety.
∎ Position patients correctly to obtain the most accurate images.
∎ Shield parts of the body not being imaged to ensure patient safety.
∎ Capture high-quality diagnostic images according to physician orders.
∎ Review images for clarity and proper exposure before submission to radiologists.
∎ Repeat procedures if necessary to ensure image quality.
∎ Follow all radiation safety regulations and guidelines (ALARA – As Low As Reasonably Achievable).
∎ Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of equipment and workspaces.
∎ Use protective equipment and monitor radiation exposure using dosimeters.
∎ Maintain accurate records of patient procedures and imaging results.
∎ Enter data into PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) or hospital information systems.
∎ Work closely with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to interpret imaging needs.
∎ Provide support during interventional procedures or surgeries when imaging is required.
∎ Stay updated on new imaging technologies and protocols.
∎ Perform routine checks and minor maintenance of imaging equipment; report malfunctions.
∎ Operating Imaging Equipment
