Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Assist to quality operationalization of the GUK’s PSS modules, ensuring that needs and priorities for PSS programming and standards are in line with the context, needs, and gaps on the ground;
∎ Organize and supervise PSS daily activities/ weekly plans and assist to conduct trainings for projects staff and volunteers;
∎ Through the close guidance of Psychosocial Service Officer work closely with protection teams including Women’s Protection and Empowerment (WPE) band Protection & Rules of Law (PROL), education and health team to ensure successful implementation of integrated programming in camp and host communities;
∎ Consult with program, field team including partner and contextualize GUK’s PSS modules;
∎ Ensure that quality and safety standards are met in each SHLS site through PSS activity implementation, regular monitoring, mentorship, technical support, and capacity building of implementing partners;
∎ Prepare/review training modules and IEC materials along with project manager, prepare context specific adaptation plan to implement PSS program;
∎ Provide capacity to staffs on records of children and adolescents attendance are accurately recorded and reported. Program Implementation:
∎ Develop PSS activity rollout plan, implement and provide day to day mentoring support, formal and on-job training support to projects staff and volunteers;
∎ Work closely with project manager to achieve project results and take support to implement field intervention through projects;
∎ Regular monitoring PSS program, providing necessary support to field team and guidance to improvement of program delivery;
∎ Ensure monitoring through projects on referral pathways; provide support to appropriately refer and document PSS cases;
∎ Support MEAL activities as requested to support quality programming, including regular field monitoring visits and weekly and / or monthly reports as required;
∎ Ensure integration and inclusion in program delivery, children and adolescent from different age, sex and ability are equally addressed in program implementation;
∎ Ensure safeguarding policy is understood and followed in program delivery. Staff Supervision & Development:
∎ Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and providing oversight and guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions;
∎ Ensure timely completion and submission of monthly timesheets, probations reviews and annual performance reviews;
∎ Ensure support and ongoing capacity building opportunities for implementing partners on technical skills. Grant Planning & Implementation:
∎ Supports implementation and adherence to grant work plans, spending plans and monitoring and evaluation plans; Coordination & Representation:
∎ Actively develop and maintain effective working relationships with staffs, protection actors, key stakeholders in the field, including government actors, UN agencies, international and local NGOs, UNO, Upazila chairman & members, DSS, MoWCA and other relevant actors according guidance of project manager;
∎ Regularly attend relevant coordination meetings at field level. Program Development:
∎ Contribute to the development of the child protection PSS program for responding to children exposed to abuse, neglect, violence and exploitation or at risk;
∎ Coordinate with other sectors staff (e.g. Women’s Protection and Empowerment, Protection Rules of Law, Health, Education, ERD, etc.) at field level. Other Duties:
∎ Consistently and dedicatedly monitor/assess the safety and security of field teams; promptly reporting concerns or incidents to GUK management and liaising with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for GUK programs;
∎ Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop GUK programs. Deliverables:
∎ Provide technical support to staffs for quality PSS program Implementation in accordance with GUK guidelines in refugee camps and host communities;

∎ Job Context:
∎ Gana Unnayan Kendra (GUK) is looking for a suitable candidate for the position of ‘Psychosocial Service Officer’ for International Rescue Committee (IRC) supported ‘Enhancing the well-being of refugees and the underprivileged host communities in Cox’s Bazar through inclusive and complementary protection, health, education and advocacy interventions’ project at Rohingya refugee camps in Cox's Bazar. The project duration is June 01, 2024 to February 28, 2025. Psychosocial Service Officer will support implementing project staff, case worker and facilitators in building their capacity on PSS activity monitoring progress, identifying gap and providing handholding support in implementing PSS program at Safe Healing and Learning Spaces (SHLS) or multipurpose center or other appropriate place in refugee camps and host communities. S/he will be responsible for providing technical support, supervision, and ongoing capacity building to projects staff and volunteers in the ground to ensure that PSS programming is implemented in line with GUK curricula, guidelines, and are adapted in consideration of the local context.
