Job Context:
∎ The Project for Strengthening Health Systems through Organizing Communities (SHASTO) implemented by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) & Supported by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is aimed at improving quality of essential Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) prevention and Maternal Health (MN) care service in Bangladesh. The purpose of the Project Officer is:
∎ To support Chief Advisor and Project Secretariat for implementation of project activities
∎ To support Project Manager`s (LD`s) for any requested work for the project
∎ To support for preparation of Project Training / Meeting / Workshop, etc.
∎ To support daily operation of the project activities by instruction of Chief Advisor and JICA Project Coordinator.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Technical Assistance:
∎ Support implementation of WHO-PEN model intervention and compile the experiences and feedback
∎ Support Project Counterparts for their own capacity development and planning/implementation of their activity plan on NCDC
∎ Support improvement of MIS related activities of GoB counterparts
∎ Support implementation of 5S/Kaizen/TQM activities
∎ Assist GoB Counterpart to organize effective training/workshop/meeting
∎ Develop linkage between the NCDC activities of the Project with municipalities and city cooperation
∎ Support Community Clinic related work and health promotional activity
∎ Provide Technical Assistance in health facility management, data management and community mobilization
∎ Coordination:
∎ Coordinate activities with Health and FP, Local Government, NGOs and other stakeholders
∎ Coordinate activities with the project contracted NGOs and consultants and other JICA supported projects
∎ Coordinate with different stakeholders/projects on NCDC or relevant issues
∎ Support the work of Chief Advisor, Expert, Consultant and SHASTO Project Secretariat.
∎ Reporting:
∎ Submit activity reports, e.g. monthly advance schedule and report and documentation of lessons learnt, and other documents timely to the JICA Project Coordinator and Chief Advisor.
∎ Data Management:
∎ Submit monitoring data report to Chief Advisor and Expert periodically or as per requirement
∎ Others:
∎ Maintain project provided equipment's (Computer, printer) and other project commodities in a good condition under supervision of Project Secretariat
∎ Follow the policy, regulation of JICA Bangladesh and SHASTO Project.
∎ Assist logistic/administrative works under supervision of Project Secretariat
∎ Other tasks requested by the Project Secretariat or Chief Advisor
∎ Deliverable:
∎ Monthly Activity Report (Activities, documentation of lessons learnt and other documents) within last 5 (Five) days of reported month to JICA Project Coordinator.
∎ Monthly detail activity plan and schedule of work within first 5 (Five) days of each month.
∎ Monthly Attendance sheet and monthly report on time for remuneration arrangement.
∎ Another deliverable requested by Chief Advisor / Project Secretariat.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Minimum 3 (three) years' experience in the field of Public Health for management of NCDC activities and related work
∎ Good experience in English and Bangla type
∎ Strong writing and verbal communication skill in English
∎ Computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point and Data Management).
