Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Internews: Project Officer – USAID Oikko
∎ Under the supervision of the Bangladesh Senior Program Officer the Project Officer provides strategic and operational support to USAID Oikko Asia Religious Freedom project and a variety of department tasks, including project management, donor reporting, proposal development, and communications. Frequent travel to project field sites for project implementation and supervision will be required.
∎ ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
∎ Program Implementation Support
∎ • Support the Senior Program Officer to implement projects and operations or parts of these programs as delegated;
∎ • Support project activities, including monitoring work plans, activity schedules, and coordinating regular check-ins and partner communications ensuring implementation is responsive to the needs of partners and beneficiaries;
∎ • Assist with the development and implementation of annual work plans for USAID-funded projects;
∎ • Manage administrative tasks in accordance with project timelines;
∎ Reporting
∎ • Support Bangladesh M&E officer in collecting and reviewing project data and deliverables;
∎ • Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly donor reports, providing updates on all aspects of grants management;
∎ • Work with partners to review deliverables and ensure timely submission of quarterly financial and narrative reports;
∎ Strategic & Research Support
∎ • Provide surge capacity by assisting program units with short-term tasks such as reporting, budget development, and other ad-hoc responsibilities;
∎ • Coordinate travel logistics and arrangements, assist with visa applications, and arrange accommodations for meetings and events;
∎ • Conduct research in support of ongoing projects and new initiatives as requested;
∎ • Assist in designing project proposals in conjunction with country teams;
∎ • Represent Internews at conferences and events when needed;
∎ • Understanding of and demonstrated commitment to upholding Internews’ Core Values; and
∎ • Other duties as assigned By the Country Representative/Senior Program Officer.
∎ QUALIFICATIONS
∎ • Minimum four-years of experience in program management, in relevant non-profit organizations – experience in supporting programs on promoting religious freedom, peace building with youths and community mobilization
∎ • Knowledge about Bangladesh's media landscape and experience in media a plus
∎ • Advanced university degree required
∎ • English language fluency (in speaking, reading, and writing) required
∎ • Grant proposal writing experience and proven text-editing proficiency
∎ • Demonstrated interpersonal skills including diplomacy, tact, and the ability to negotiate
∎ • Excellent communication skills: speaking, writing, and listening
∎ • Proven ability to set priorities and manage time effectively
∎ • Proven analytical and problem-solving ability
∎ • Experience in USAID-funded projects and ethnic and religious freedom (REF) is a plus
∎ • Proven ability to work both independently and as an effective team member
∎ • Proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple ongoing assignments
∎ • Proficient in MS Office
∎ • Job Duration: 12 months renewal based on funding availability.
