Experience:
Bachelor`s degree in Media and Mass Communication, Media and Film Studies, Public Relations, Development Studies, or a related field.
Minimum of 8 to 10 years of progressively responsible professional experience in strategic communications, corporate communications, public relations, or advocacy communications, preferably with international NGOs, development organizations, UN agencies, or donor-funded programs.
Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills in both English and Bangla, with outstanding verbal communication and presentation skills in English.
Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive communications strategies that support organizational objectives, advocacy priorities, and program visibility.
Proven leadership experience in managing communications functions, supervising and mentoring communications teams, and building the communication capacity of staff and partner organizations.
Strong experience in developing integrated communication campaigns across digital, print, broadcast, and in-person platforms for diverse audiences.
Extensive experience managing organizational social media platforms and developing digital engagement strategies, including content planning, audience growth, analytics, and performance reporting.
Demonstrated experience building and maintaining productive relationships with media organizations, journalists, influencers, government counterparts, development partners, and other key stakeholders.
Hands-on experience managing audio-visual production from concept development to final delivery, including scriptwriting, storyboarding, production planning, vendor management, and quality assurance. Familiarity with video editing processes and multimedia production is required.
Experience managing website content using content management systems (preferably WordPress) and ensuring content quality and consistency.
Experience coordinating communication agencies, graphic designers, photographers, videographers, printers, and other creative service providers.
Working knowledge of graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or Canva), photography, and multimedia editing tools is desirable.
Strong organizational, project management, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Position Overview: Pure Earth Bangladesh is seeking a creative and strategic communications leader with proven experience in developing and implementing communication strategies, leading teams, and producing high-quality communication products. The ideal candidate will have expertise in digital communications, advocacy, media engagement, and audio-visual production, with the ability to translate complex research into compelling stories for diverse audiences.
Working closely with the Country Director, program teams, and external stakeholders, the Senior Communications Manager will provide technical leadership, mentor the communications team, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and enhance Pure Earth Bangladesh`s visibility and impact through strategic communications.
Key Scope of Work:
Communications Leadership and Strategy
Lead the development and implementation of Pure Earth Bangladesh`s communications strategy, ensuring alignment with the organization`s global communications priorities and country program objectives.
Provide strategic leadership and technical guidance to the communications function, establishing communication standards, editorial guidelines, branding, and messaging across all platforms.
Mentor, supervise, and build the capacity of the communications team, fostering creativity, technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous professional development.
Support the Country Director and program teams on strategic communications, advocacy, visibility, stakeholder engagement, and reputational risk management.
Ensure all communication products meet high standards of quality, consistency, and compliance with Pure Earth`s global branding and communications policies.
Social Media Strategy and Digital Communications
Develop and lead a comprehensive digital communications and social media strategy for Pure Earth Bangladesh across Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Instagram, YouTube, and emerging digital platforms.
Design innovative campaigns, branding templates, messaging frameworks, and audience engagement strategies to expand Pure Earth`s digital presence and influence.
Oversee the planning, development, approval, and publication of high-quality content across all social media channels.
Monitor digital analytics, audience insights, and performance metrics to produce monthly reports and continuously optimize communications performance.
Supervise external agencies and creative vendors in producing high-quality graphics, animations, reels, short videos, and other multimedia products consistent with organizational branding.
Translate and adapt global communication materials, research findings, and technical publications into compelling, locally relevant content for diverse audiences.
Review research papers, scientific publications, and media reports and transform complex technical information into engaging stories, blogs, infographics, and social media content.
Knowledge Management, Publications and Website
Lead the planning, development, editing, and quality assurance of newsletters, annual reports, blogs, success stories, publications, and other communication materials.
Lead the planning, writing, editing, design, production, and dissemination of communication materials including brochures, policy briefs, fact sheets, posters, toolkits, case studies, reports, and advocacy materials.
Serve as the final quality reviewer for communication products before publication, ensuring editorial excellence, technical accuracy, consistency, and compliance with organizational standards.
Manage and maintain Bangladesh-related content on the Pure Earth global website, ensuring timely updates and high-quality presentation.
Develop compelling human-interest stories by conducting field visits, interviews with communities, government counterparts, and project beneficiaries, documenting project outcomes through written, photographic, and audio-visual formats.
Provide technical guidance to photographers, videographers, journalists, consultants, and partner organizations to ensure high-quality documentation of project activities.
Media Relations and External Communications
Develop and implement a proactive media engagement strategy to strengthen Pure Earth`s visibility and credibility.
Build and maintain strong professional relationships with journalists, editors, media houses, influencers, and strategic communication partners.
Lead the preparation, review, and approval of press releases, media advisories, opinion articles, speeches, talking points, and media kits.
Monitor national and international media coverage related to lead pollution, environmental health, circular economy, and related topics, identifying opportunities for strategic communications and thought leadership.
Audio-Visual Production and Creative Content
Lead the conceptualization, planning, production, and quality assurance of audio-visual communication products from concept to final delivery.
Develop creative concepts, scripts, storyboards, subtitles, interview guides, and production plans for documentaries, campaign videos, promotional films, reels, and animations.
Supervise external production agencies and consultants, ensuring all audio-visual materials meet organizational quality standards and communication objectives.
Coordinate review processes, incorporate stakeholder feedback, and ensure timely delivery of multimedia products.
Capacity Building and Technical Support
Design communication capacity-building strategies and training curricula for staff, implementing partners, government agencies, youth groups, media professionals, and other stakeholders.
Conduct training on strategic communications, storytelling, content development, photography, social media, branding, media engagement, and organizational communication standards.
Mentor communications staff and partner organizations to strengthen institutional communication capacity and improve the quality of communication outputs.
Provide technical advice on communication planning across projects and support teams in integrating communication into program implementation.
Events, Campaigns and Advocacy
Provide strategic leadership in planning and managing national campaigns, conferences, seminars, workshops, awareness events, and advocacy initiatives.
Oversee event branding, visibility materials, communication plans, media engagement, and event documentation.
Coordinate with vendors and consultants to develop contracts, scopes of work, and communication deliverables.
Document lessons learned, best practices, and event outcomes for knowledge sharing and organizational learning.
Innovation and Cross-functional Collaboration
Identify innovative communication approaches, emerging digital platforms, and creative storytelling techniques to amplify Pure Earth`s impact and reach.
Build partnerships with influencers, communication networks, academic institutions, and media organizations to expand outreach and engagement.
Participate in strategic planning meetings, program reviews, and field visits to ensure communications are fully integrated into project implementation and organizational priorities.
12-months, full-time consultant position, with the high possibility of annual renewal.
