Additional Requirements: Responsibilities & Context: - Maintain and oversee the accounting operations of the Head Office in compliance with organizational policies and applicable accounting standards.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions in the accounting system.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Maintain and reconcile the General Ledger, subsidiary ledgers, bank accounts, cash books, and other financial records.
- Prepare and review bank reconciliation statements and resolve outstanding discrepancies.
- Verify and approve payment vouchers, journal vouchers, invoices, and supporting documents before processing.
- Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, advances, and accruals to ensure accuracy and timely settlement.
- Assist in the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of annual budgets and periodic budget variance analyses.
- Ensure compliance with tax, VAT, and other statutory requirements, including timely deductions, filings, and payments.
- Prepare financial reports for management, donors, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders as required.
- Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits by providing necessary schedules, records, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies, donor guidelines, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Review and monitor the financial performance of branch offices and provide technical guidance to branch accounting staff.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of all accounting records to ensure accuracy, security, and audit readiness.
- Identify financial risks and recommend improvements to strengthen internal controls and operational efficiency.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate accounting staff to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Prepare financial analyses, forecasts, and other reports to support management decision-making.
- Perform any other finance and accounting responsibilities assigned by the Head of Finance or senior management.
