Experience and Other Requirements:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in health counseling, MNCH, SRH, nutrition, community health or humanitarian response.
The Following capabilities are mandatory:
- A dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to perform effectively in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in FDMN camps, host communities or resource-limited settings will be preferred.
- Ability to coordinate services effectively across multiple facilities and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Fluency in Bangla; basic English proficiency required; knowledge of local dialects is an advantage.
- Good analytical, documentation, and report writing skills.

About RTMI:
Research, Training and Management (RTM) International is a National NGO working in Cox’s Bazar to implement different projects supported by the Government of Bangladesh, UNFPA, UNICEF and other development partners. To provide essential health services to the affected population across different locations, RTM needs a female MNCH Counselor for the Rohingya Camp as per the criteria given below:
Job Responsibilities:
RTM is looking for a qualified and experienced MNCH Counselor to provide counseling and awareness support on maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH) services at the health facility and community level in Rohingya camps. The MNCH Counselor will support pregnant women, lactating mothers, caregivers, adolescents and families through health education, counseling, referral support and follow-up to improve service uptake and promote healthy practices.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide counseling to pregnant women, lactating mothers and caregivers on ANC, PNC, safe delivery, newborn care, family planning, nutrition, immunization and danger signs during pregnancy and childhood.
- Conduct individual and group counselling sessions at facility and community level.
- Support early identification and referral of high-risk pregnancies, newborn complications, malnutrition, GBV/PSEA-related concerns and other protection issues as per protocol.
- Encourage timely uptake of MNCH services including ANC visits, institutional delivery, PNC, immunization, growth monitoring and child health services.
- Provide basic counselling on breastfeeding, complementary feeding, maternal nutrition and hygiene practices.
- Support outreach activities, courtyard sessions and community awareness sessions on MNCH-related topics.
- Maintain proper counseling records, attendance sheets, referral notes and follow-up registers.
- Coordinate with midwives, medical officers, nurses, CHWs, community mobilizers and other facility staff to ensure continuum of care.
- Ensure confidentiality, dignity and respectful communication with all clients, especially women, adolescents and vulnerable groups.
- Support health education materials distribution and assist in preparing reports as required.
- Promote gender-sensitive, culturally appropriate and client-centered counseling services.
- Follow RTMI safeguarding, PSEA, child protection and code of conduct policies at all times.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the RTMI authority to support service delivery.
