Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in strategic communications, digital communications, stakeholder engagement, public affairs, media relations, knowledge management, or related fields is required, including at least two (3) years in a supervisory or leadership role.

  • Prior experience working with think tanks, research institutions, international organizations, development agencies, policy-focused organizations, or donor-funded programmes will be considered a strong advantage.

  • Candidates should have demonstrated expertise in communication strategy development, digital content management, stakeholder engagement, research dissemination, media outreach, and institutional communications, along with strong leadership, team management, and strategic advisory capabilities.

Technical Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Bangla.

  • Proficiency in website management, content management systems (CMS), digital publishing platforms, and web content administration.

  • Strong knowledge of social media strategy, content planning, audience development, social listening, and digital campaign management.

  • Experience with multimedia content development, including video production, podcasting, storytelling, graphic design coordination, and visual communication.

  • Familiarity with SEO, Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, social media analytics tools, and other digital performance measurement platforms.

  • Knowledge of AI-enabled communication tools, digital automation platforms, content generation technologies, and emerging digital communication trends.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with design and content development software.

  • Strong understanding of stakeholder mapping, partnership development, policy engagement processes, and development communication approaches.

  • Knowledge of digital accessibility standards, copyright requirements, data privacy considerations, and online communication best practices.

The Knowledge Hub Institute Trust (KHIT) is a results-oriented think and do tank that turns complex policy challenges into practical, evidence-based solutions, working across its six core thematic Research Units — Energy & Climate, Fiscal Justice, Business & Human Rights, Business Climate, Social Justice, and AI & Digitization — to strengthen institutions and drive inclusive impact in Bangladesh. As a member of the senior management team, KHIT invites applications from experienced communication professionals for the position of Deputy Director (Digital Communication) to provide strategic leadership for the Institute's digital communications, knowledge dissemination, stakeholder engagement, and institutional visibility functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for the Institute's digital communication, stakeholder engagement, and institutional visibility initiatives to advance organizational priorities, policy influence, and public engagement.

  • Develop and implement integrated digital communication strategies to strengthen KHIT's position as a trusted source of evidence-based policy research and analysis.

  • Oversee the management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Institute's website and digital platforms, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, user engagement, and brand consistency.

  • Lead digital campaigns to amplify research findings, policy recommendations, events, and institutional initiatives through targeted audience segmentation and outreach.

  • Develop strategies to expand the Institute's digital footprint and engagement with policymakers, parliamentarians, development partners, researchers, media professionals, academia, civil society organizations, and the broader public.

  • Translate complex research and policy issues into clear, accessible, and audience-specific communication products.

  • Oversee the production of high-quality multimedia content, including videos, podcasts, animations, infographics, social media assets, and digital storytelling products.

  • Lead communication and outreach activities for conferences, policy dialogues, workshops, research launches, parliamentary discussions, and other high-level engagements.

  • Monitor and analyze digital engagement metrics, audience insights, media coverage, and communication performance indicators, using data-driven approaches to optimize outreach effectiveness and audience engagement.

  • Lead digital reputation management efforts, including online monitoring, risk identification, crisis response, and proactive reputation-building initiatives.

  • Explore and integrate innovative communication tools and technologies, including artificial intelligence, data visualization, automation, and emerging digital platforms, to enhance research dissemination and stakeholder engagement.

  • Strengthen the Institute's search engine optimization (SEO) and digital discoverability to increase access to research outputs, publications, and policy resources.

  • Ensure compliance with digital communication standards, data protection requirements, copyright regulations, accessibility standards, and organizational branding guidelines.

  • Ensure effective management of donor visibility requirements and oversee the development of institutional communication materials, including annual reports, organizational profiles, donor reports, publications, and impact reports.

  • Strengthen organizational knowledge-sharing practices through effective content management, documentation, and dissemination of research outputs, lessons learned, and institutional achievements.

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise the Digital Communication team, fostering innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous professional development.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Management.
