Experience:
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Agriculture or Postgraduate degree in Social Science, Political Science, Economics, Development Studies, or any other relevant/equivalent discipline.
At least 7 years of experience in the relevant field.
Basic computer skills in MS Office.
Must have skills in making donor reports (English and Bangla).
Ability to work under pressure and dual/multi-management.
Have to drive a motorcycle with a valid driving license.
Jagorani Chakra Foundation (JCF) is a national voluntary social welfare organization. JCF is implementing Strengthening Climate Smart Vegetables Value Chain (BD-17) Project supported by HEIFER International. To ensure the quality implementation of the project, JCF intends to recruit project staff from qualified candidates of Bangladeshi nationals.
Job Responsibility
:
Provide technical guidance to Community Facilitators (CFs) of the BD Beef and Goat Value Chain Signature Project for smooth implementation of project activities.
Build the capacity of field teams, particularly Community Facilitators (CFs), cooperative staff, and project participants on improved production skills, cooperative business development, and strengthening cooperative management skills.
Identify technical issues related to production, business development, and marketing of vegetables, poultry, and livestock products and provide necessary support to CFs at the field level.
Monitor and support cooperative microfinance management.
Ensure the application of improved production technologies for livestock and poultry, including housing, feeding, and management practices.
Develop goat rearing, dairy, and cattle fattening enterprises at the SHG level.
Provide technical support to project participants to reduce livestock mortality and strengthen Community Argo Veterinary Entrepreneur (CAVE) services at the community level.
Promote Cattle insurance, artificial insemination (AI), vaccination campaigning, and cattle fattening practices at SHG and relevant activities to the community level.
Maintain updated records on asset multiplication, livestock mortality, and the number of enterprises established.
Ensure regular Self Help Group (SHG) and Cooperative Management Committee meetings with proper documentation.
Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly progress reports and documenting success stories.
Visit households and ensure household-level livestock production and management practices.
Support the organization of animal health camps and ensure vaccination, deworming, and other technical services for improving livestock management.
Assist the Heifer programme team during field visits, share necessary information, and organize field visits of external visitors when required.
Build strong relationships and maintain liaison with Upazila-level stakeholders, particularly UNO, Department of Livestock Services (DLS), Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Cooperative Office, Women and Children Affairs Office, local government representatives, and private sector/market actors.
Arrange and facilitate need-based training and workshops with stakeholders and producer organizations.
Follow the organization's Child Safeguarding, Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), Gender, Money laundering, Whistle Blowing and other Policies.
Tk. 55,000 per month, Consolidated and other admissible benefits as per organizational policy as well as the project.
