Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure quality, relevant and effective project implementations that bring about sustainable changes to the lives of the targeted poorest peoples (50%)
∎ Activities:
∎ S/he will be responsible for field management and implementation of the project’s interventions to ensure that deadlines are met and activities produce quality outputs.
∎ Be in line with organizational strategic objectives and goals.
∎ Provision of IRB country strategy implementation at the field level.
∎ Support team members to make them enable to give their best e.g. by encouraging and praising good performance, coaching, assisting staff to prevent or resolve problems, and providing resources, tools, and equipment.
∎ Ensure team members are given appropriate workloads and are working efficiently.
∎ Coordinate and provide substantive technical support to the implementation of the project.
∎ Identify areas for support and intervention related to the project and provide support for the timely achievement of project goals, outcomes, and outputs.
∎ Support line manager developing details work plan (components and activities wise)
∎ Coordinate relationships with stakeholders, and duty-bearers, to support the implementation and expansion of the project.
∎ Support organizing inception, coordination execution, monitoring, reporting, and closure of projects.
∎ Ensure quality and standards of technical interventions at every level of the project.
∎ Support carrying out the monthly expenditure analysis, and prepare reports and requirements of the fund.
∎ Conduct regular follows up on the project activity, and work progress.
∎ Assist to mitigate any risks within the project (financial, human resources, or legal consequences) or negatively impacting the government or IRB’s reputation.
∎ Take necessary arrangements for community development group formation and group development & leadership development training, savings and credit management, linkage development, etc.
∎ Identify and select skills development training need assessment, develop a training plan, method, and upgrade training design.
∎ Conduct regular visits to project implementation areas and advise and support field staff with the identification and solution of technical issues.
∎ Provide technical support for effective internal monitoring and operational plan, monitoring working progress & ensure the project outcomes and impact.
∎ Support ensuring requirements of the MEAL framework for measuring the impact of the project.
∎ Support project manager by sharing new ideas and approaches researching best practices and proposing new, more effective ways of doing things.
∎ Support efforts in building networks and resource mobilization strategies on livelihood programming opportunities
∎ Ensure Complaints & Feedback Mechanism (CFM), DNH, Child Protection, Safeguarding & Gender Sensitivity issues concerning project activities.
∎ Ensure that the project adopts best practices in integrated rural development, agricultural marketing, and adaptation and takes up recommendations to ensure that lessons learned within the programs are properly recorded and shared with other partners.
∎ Ensure effective reporting, documentation, and visibility according to the project's need (20%)
∎ Activities:
∎ Produce documents and analyses innovative strategies/best practices/new approaches, formulate case studies, knowledge management, and dissemination.
∎ Support preparing high-quality reports (monthly, quarterly, interim, and final narrative report) both narrative and quantitative information, and reporting on relevant indicators and outcomes following the reporting schedule and the required reporting formats.
∎ Take lead in documentation and sharing of Impact/success stories and best practices to promote learning.
∎ Assess project performance to identify success factors and incorporates best practices into project work.
∎ Compile relevant project data, and prepare documents for creating the evidence base for climate adaptive livelihood practices, awareness and capacity development, claimed basic rights and SSN, & DRR.
∎ Assist with data collection, processing, and analyzing data from the field and produce information/briefs for interventions, strategies, projects, and programs.
∎ Assure compilation and sharing of results, learning, and uptake from all the activities.
∎ Assist project account officer to prepare the financial report of expenditure and updating from time to time.
∎ Ensure organizational visibility in different stages.
∎ Assist in archiving the project documents (hard copy and electronic copy) as per IR guidelines.
∎ Share different information to develop the project with the knowledge management team.
∎ Developing need-based IEC training materials, leaflets, billboards, etc. as effective communication materials
∎ Effective project monitoring and administration (10%)
∎ Activities:
∎ Contribute performance of the project activities and outputs against expected results and adjust implementation processes to ensure the project is progressing towards the intended outcomes.
∎ Assist in analyzing the impact of the project and promote learning by documentation of best practices. Use this information to support decision-making processes.
∎ Ensure tracking project risks in collaboration with the line manager to timely adjusts and implement the existing contingency plan.
∎ Conduct orientation for key stakeholders on Complaints & Feedback Mechanism (CFM), Child Protection, Safeguarding & Gender Sensitivity issues concerning project activities.
∎ Facilitate training, workshops, Meetings, sensitizing activities, etc in different sectors for internal & external stakeholders and policymakers on the rights and entitlement & SSN issues.
∎ Organize meetings for communities at project sites to reflect on project approaches, tools, the impact of interventions, best practices, exit, and sustainability strategies as well as create spaces and opportunities for action-learning.
∎ Prepare capacity development materials on health, WASH, nutrition, and disaster risk reduction to provide technical support in conducting capacity-building initiatives, and formulation of policies, strategies guidelines, and tools.
∎ Support the development of initiatives & facilitate knowledge- management on climate adaptive livelihoods, poverty alleviation, women's rights and entitlements and particularly, their linkages;
∎ Facilitate external/internal evaluation and audit.
∎ Any other tasks assigned by the Project Manager/Supervisor/Management concerning project activities
∎ Comprehensive and effective communication, coordination, and advocacy with different stakeholders (15%)
∎ Activities:
∎ Coordination & communication with project stakeholders, GOs, NGOs, private sectors, CBOs, service providers & IRCO representatives.
∎ Coordinate overall implementation of the program at the field level.
∎ Mobilize and facilitate the engagements of stakeholders during planning and development meetings, workshops, and others.
∎ Engagement with key stakeholders for influence, learning, and resource development
∎ Conduct rights-related advocacy & networking with relevant stakeholders.
∎ Support mapping of government service providers departments (agriculture, livestock, health, etc) and building networks with relevant service providers.
∎ Maintain effective networking, and coordination with appropriate liaise with different stakeholders, duty bearers, GOB, and NGOs to ensure their active participation in project & information exchange with them.
∎ Coordinate the project to be managed within the agreed time, cost, and quality constraints to enable the delivery of the agreed outputs and/or benefits.
∎ Build strong Linkage with local service providers to create pathways for right holders to get access to various entitlements like social safety nets and other entitlements.
∎ Organize sensitizing activities targeting government service providers toward the rights and entitlements of the targeted HHs.
∎ Ensure that the beneficiaries are aware of the assistance and services available and how to access them;
∎ Ensure knowledge and capacity building of community people on their rights to access services and access to finance.
∎ Arrange local, district, and national level advocacy meetings and workshops.
∎ Organize phase-out meetings and lesson-learned workshops for further organizational development.
∎ Others (5%)
∎ Activities:
∎ Participate & involve with seasonal programs (Ramadan, Qurbani, Winterization, etc.) activities.
∎ Ensure that local purchases and expenditures are done as per Islamic Relief Bangladesh policy.
∎ Maintain the stock book, inventory, and other essential registers properly and timely in an effective manner.
∎ Support in the procurement of materials like requisition, follow-up, etc.
∎ Take initiatives to ensure the security of project staff and participants during the intervention.
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, exploitation, Fraud, Bribery & Money Laundering to achieve the program’s goals of safeguarding implementation and as well as Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on the safeguarding of harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation, Fraud, Bribery & Money Laundering for establishing a safe working environment
∎ Being a member of Islamic Relief as a child-friendly organization, it is the core responsibility and obligation of each staff member to understand and obey the IR Child Protection & PSEA Policy and respond accordingly as and when required.
∎ Willing and able to travel frequently for extended periods and to remote areas of the projects.
