Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Social science , International relations from any UGC approved institute.
Post-secondary and/or any addtional certificate/training in International Law, Political Science or related field is desired.
01 year prior experience as a Protection Focal Point/Case Worker or Legal Officer or Associate Legal Officer is desired, given the relevance of this experience to the protection case management aspect of the role.
Good command of written/spoken English and knowledge of the Chittagonian and/or Rohingya language.
Good computer skills, including the use of email, web browsers, and data entry techniques.
Strong writing skills and experience in writing qualitative and narrative reports.
Ability to organise and prioritise work and competing tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain composure.
Excellent communication, listening, and observation skills, including the ability to create trust, provide support, maintain confidentiality, and respect people of all ages, backgrounds, and diversity.
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of theories, concepts, and approaches relevant to International Human Rights Law, International Humanitarian Law, National Laws, and the SGBV context.

Job Purpose:
The Project Officer (Anti-Trafficking), Legal Protection will work in close coordination with UNHCR and BRAC Protection Focal Points and Legal Officers to identify and refer trafficking cases. The role includes conducting outreach activities on trafficking awareness with volunteers, coordinating with police stations and relevant stakeholders to facilitate the rescue of trafficking victims, and providing initial Psychological First Aid (PFA) to survivors following rescue.
Key Responsibilities:
Programme:
Maintain close coordination with the BRAC or BLAST Legal Officers, UNHCR Protection Focal Points, and refugee volunteers to form a Cluster that provides legal protection services to several camps
Identify and refer trafficking cases
Provide individual counselling on trafficking issues to refugees.Conduct awareness sessions on trafficking and oversee outreach activities of volunteers on trafficking.
Liaise with and advocate with competent authorities to ensure protection outcomes related to trafficking
Identify, record, and securely report trafficking incidents occurring in camps of responsibility
Maintain records of protection cases and interventions in a secure database
Monitor the activities of anti-trafficking volunteers and provide the necessary support to fulfil their duties
Comply with, and monitor compliance with, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all protection activities
Participate in initiatives to capacitate authorities, relevant institutions, and NGOs to strengthen national trafficking-related legislation and procedures
Stay abreast of political, social, economic, and cultural developments that have an impact on the protection environment
Coordinate with LEAs while rescuing victims and provide initial PFA to victims of trafficking
Perform other related duties as required
Monitoring and Progress Controls:
Regularly monitor and assess the implementation of protection activities, ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), organizational policies, and international protection standards
Attend coordination meetings to track progress, evaluate the quality of services, and ensure accountability and timely follow-up on protection cases and referrals
Coordination:
Work closely with the Legal Protection Focal Point and Case Management Lawyers to ensure programming is well-supported and aligns with BRAC policies and procedures
Collaborate with other BRAC departments to ensure effective working relationships
Establish and maintain relationships with community members, NGOs, government authorities, and UN agencies
Participate in internal coordination meetings and ensure effective collaboration with partner organizations and stakeholders
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so
