Experience:
Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Administration, Environmental Science, Climate Change, WASH-related disciplines, or any other relevant field from a recognized university.
At least 5 years of relevant experience. NGO work exposure and knowledge on WASH and climate change are desirable.
Additional Requirements: ·
Proficient in the MS Office package.
Excellent communication skills in both English and Bangla.
Self-motivated, adaptable, a team player, and passionate about social development work. ·
The candidate must possess the ability and willingness to travel frequently. ·

Village Education Resource Center (VERC) is a national-level voluntary organization. The organization is registered under the Bureau of NGO Affairs and the Ministry of Social Welfare (Registration Nos. 133 and Dha-02282/89, respectively) and the Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA) (Registration No. 01275-00523-00017). VERC is seeking to recruit experienced and hardworking manpower for the following position under the project. “Civil society leadership in mobilizing for better WASH (CLIMB)” Supported by WaterAid Bangladesh. Applications are invited from eligible Bangladeshi citizens on an urgent basis.
Key Responsibilities:
The Project Manager will lead overall project management and coordination. The Project Manager will ensure the timely implementation of activities across the twelve unions of Singra Upazila, coordinate with Union Parishads, WatSan Committees, and civil society actors, and oversee progress toward sustainability outcomes. This role is critical to ensuring that project interventions strengthen local institutions and gradually transfer responsibilities to community platforms and local government structures.
Provide overall leadership, management, coordination, and technical oversight of the CLIMB Project in accordance with approved project documents, workplans, budgets, and donor requirements.
Ensure timely and quality implementation of project activities across the twelve unions of Singra Upazila to achieve the project outcomes, outputs, targets, and indicators.
Lead the development and execution of detailed implementation plans, monitoring frameworks, procurement plans, and periodic progress reviews.
Coordinate and strengthen partnerships with Union Parishads, Upazila Administration, WatSan Committees, relevant government departments, civil society organizations (CSOs), community-based organizations (CBOs), media, and other stakeholders.
Facilitate capacity strengthening of CSOs, community leaders, and local institutions on climate-resilient WASH, locally led adaptation (LLA), advocacy, accountability, gender equality and social inclusion (GESI), and organizational development.
Support the formation, strengthening, and effective functioning of community platforms, local leadership groups, and Union Parishad Standing Committees related to WASH, climate change, and health governance.
Ensure quality implementation of Participatory WASH Vulnerability Assessments (PWVA), community-led adaptation planning, budget tracking initiatives, policy advocacy activities, and accountability mechanisms.
Promote meaningful participation and leadership of women, youth, ethnic minority communities and other marginalized groups in project activities and decision-making processes.
Lead evidence generation, documentation of lessons learned, preparation of policy briefs, success stories, case studies, and knowledge products for advocacy and learning purposes.
Facilitate community-government dialogues, public hearings, open budget sessions, advocacy meetings, and stakeholder consultations to strengthen accountability and responsive governance.
Coordinate media engagement, public awareness campaigns, and communication initiatives related to climate-resilient and gender-responsive WASH.
Ensure effective monitoring, data quality assurance, reporting, and learning systems are in place and that project progress is regularly reviewed against agreed indicators and targets.
Prepare and submit high-quality narrative reports, presentations, success stories, and other project deliverables to VERC and WaterAid Bangladesh.
Ensure compliance with donor requirements, organizational policies, safeguarding standards, financial procedures, and risk management protocols.
Provide supportive supervision, mentoring, and performance management to project staff and foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.
Lead sustainability, institutionalization, and phase-out planning to ensure local ownership of project achievements by CSOs, community institutions, Union Parishads, and relevant government stakeholders.
Maintain effective coordination and communication with WaterAid Bangladesh and represent VERC in relevant meetings, workshops, forums, and networking events.
Perform any other duties assigned by the VERC management in the interest of the project.
Monthly consolidated salary: BDT 55000-57500. Other admissible benefits will be provided as per organizational policy and project provisions. The salary is inclusive of all applicable taxes; relevant taxes will be deducted at the source as per Government of Bangladesh rules.
