1. Project Management and Implementation
Lead the overall planning, implementation, monitoring, and successful delivery of project activities in accordance with approved project proposals, implementation plans, donor requirements, and organizational policies.
Ensure protection programme quality and provide technical guidance/support to the protection team for timely protection deliverables, including ensuring quality monitoring, donor reporting, advocacy, policy notes and other protection reports.
Work closely with consortium members, local government authorities, relevant stakeholders, and community structures to ensure effective protection implementation and sustainable capacity strengthening.
Monitor project progress against agreed objectives, indicators, work plans, timelines, and finalize protection monitoring reports, and support teams with data processing and analysis.
Ensure all project activities, outputs, and deliverables are completed within the approved timeframe and budget and in compliance with contractual obligations.
Regularly review and update project work plans in collaboration with project staff and partners, ensuring the effective use of project management and tracking tools.
Identify and assess potential local partners to work with in protection service delivery. Identify training gaps among protection staff and facilitate capacity-building plans for protection staff based on identified needs, including project management.
2. Technical Support and Capacity Development
Provide continuous technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to project staff and partner organizations to strengthen professional competencies and project delivery capacity.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of protection issues and trends and share this information with donors, at coordination meetings, with all teams and senior management as appropriate.
Support staff and partners in applying sector standards, best practices, and accountability principles throughout project implementation.
3. Coordination, Partnership, and External Representation
Coordinate the day-to-day implementation of project activities and ensure effective collaboration among consortium members to achieve project objectives.
Establish and maintain efficient communication mechanisms to facilitate timely information sharing between project teams, consortium partners, and management.
Develop and maintain productive working relationships with government authorities, community leaders, civil society organizations, humanitarian actors, and other relevant stakeholders.
Represent the project and organization at coordination meetings, sector forums, inter-agency platforms, and stakeholder consultations.
4. Budget and Financial Management
Oversee project financial management and ensure efficient utilization of resources in accordance with approved budgets, donor regulations, and organizational procedures.
Monitor budget expenditures regularly and ensure monthly reviews of financial transactions, budget utilization, and project spending trends.
Prepare and update cash forecasts, spending projections, and financial plans in collaboration with finance teams and consortium partners.
Support project staff in developing and implementing spending plans, procurement plans, and activity-based work plans.
5. Staff Management and Leadership
Provide overall leadership, supervision, and management support to project staff and partner teams to ensure effective performance and achievement of project objectives.
Establish clear performance expectations, objectives, and accountability mechanisms for all team members.
Conduct regular supervision meetings, performance reviews, probation assessments, and development discussions to support staff growth and professional development.
Develop and implement staffing plans to ensure appropriate human resource capacity throughout the project lifecycle.
Promote staff participation in project planning, implementation, problem-solving, and decision-making processes.
Ensure project staff actively participate in weekly, monthly, and other scheduled management and coordination meetings.
Coordinate timely recruitment, onboarding, and replacement of project personnel when required to maintain operational effectiveness.
Any other relevant duties as requested by the line manager.
