Responsibilities & Context:

  • Provide overall strategic, technical, and operational leadership for the housing development project.

  • Lead the project from planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover stages.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, and execution strategies.

  • Ensure projects are delivered within the approved time, cost, quality, and safety parameters.

  • Coordinate effectively with the Chinese joint-venture/technical partner, consultants, contractors, architects, engineers, government authorities, and other stakeholders.

  • Review and approve technical designs, engineering drawings, specifications, BOQs, construction methodologies, and project documentation.

 

  • Monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and standards.

  • Lead and supervise project management, engineering, construction, procurement, QA/QC, safety, and other relevant teams.

  • Manage contractors and consultants and ensure effective contract administration and performance monitoring.

  • Identify potential project risks, delays, cost overruns, and technical challenges and implement appropriate mitigation measures.

  • Ensure strict compliance with applicable Bangladesh building codes, construction regulations, environmental requirements, and occupational health & safety standards.

  • Review project budgets, cash-flow requirements, variation orders, claims, and cost-control measures.

  • Conduct regular project review meetings and provide progress reports and strategic recommendations to top management.

  • Establish effective systems for project monitoring, documentation, quality assurance, and reporting.

  • Maintain strong communication and professional relationships with local and international stakeholders.

  • Take appropriate decisions to resolve technical, operational, contractual, and construction-related issues.

  • Ensure the successful completion and timely handover of the project in accordance with management expectations.
