Job Context:
∎ Acid Survivors Foundation is going to implement "Prevention, Respond and Resilience building to address burn violence project "in Sirajgonj and Dinajpur District supported by Manusher Jonno Foundation.
∎ ASF is looking for a qualified candidate for the following position.
∎ Location: Based in Dhaka and more than 50% time will be required for field visit.
∎ Project Duration: Three (3) years from 01 January-2019 to 31 December-2021.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Overall implementation and management of the projects' legal activities
∎ Provide technical support for organizing legal conferences and clinic;
∎ Collect acid and burn case related information, referral linkage and documentation;
∎ Assist in case filing and referral linkage with LAG partners/Public Prosecutors;
∎ Build strong relation with police station, court, legal aid services and service providers;
∎ Communication with DACC, NACC, court, acid crime case monitoring cell, advocates;
∎ Advocacy/Lobby in High Court for ongoing Cases;
∎ Legal advice to survivors, family members of survivors and their community;
∎ Incident and old case related information collect, court visit, develop referral linkage;
∎ Conduct Legal conference and Clinic in District level and National level;
∎ Follow up with Acid Case Monitoring Cell, PHQ, IO, Local thana, PP, District legal Aid offices, PNGOs, and legal aid providers;
∎ Advocacy/Lobby in High Court for ongoing Cases;
∎ Attend court to testify regarding medical certificate and for sensitive cases accompany survivors to court hearing;
∎ Organize and facilitate LAG meeting quarterly;
∎ Manage survivors legal file and update in MIS;
∎ Fact findings of the special cases;
∎ Provide necessary information to case manager/ case conference;
∎ Documentation(data, monthly-quarterly report) all legal related activities;
∎ Prepare work plan and report regularly;
∎ To develop case story, lesson learned and challenges;
∎ Appear court witness frequently in two districts of Bangladesh;
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 35 years
∎ Minimum 2 (years) work experience in the relevant field.NGO related experience will get preference.
∎ Language proficiency in English is essential.
∎ Flexibility and strong commitment to the following field.
∎ Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
∎ Networking and negotiation skills,
∎ Gender sensitive and Values oriented
∎ Hard working and committed to meet targets
∎ Good knowledge on IT.
∎ Integrity, transparency, proactive stance and team building capacity.
Salary:
∎ Monthly gross salary BDT 35,000/-
