Job Context:
∎ Women’s Empowerment & Active Citizenship (ENGAGE) project started from January 2020. This project is being implemented mainly in Shyamnagar and Patharghata sub districts of Satkhira and Barguna districts respectively. The project will work “on the ground” in communities across five countries (Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Haiti, India and Tanzania). Project activities will be a combination of:
∎ Support for community-based training of women leaders and related community initiatives that advance gender equality;
∎ Capacity building support for partner organizations and their local, national and regional networks; and
∎ Learning-focused activities (action research, case study documentation, curriculum development, etc.) that build on the community initiatives and share lessons
∎ CCDB will also work at community level to support the formation and strengthening of local women’s organizations to address issues of climate change through the development of community-based climate change adaptation plans that address the specific needs of women and girls. Training activities will build the capacity of women’s organizations to undertake local action research that examines the vulnerabilities of women in the context of climate change; support them to engage in advocacy and campaigns; and enhance their ability to interaction with local government institutions and develop opportunities for alternative livelihoods
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure implementation of program activities according to the Annual Program Plan (AWP) in association with other partners as and when necessary
∎ Assist Project Manager in developing Annual work plan
∎ Provide necessary guidance to the community organizers in organizing training workshop orientation session
∎ Organize and conduct training, workshops, meetings and campaigns at the community level.
∎ Prepare reports on the event of each training, workshop, meetings and campaigns and keep proper documentation
∎ Contribute in developing the training materials, manuals in consultation with the Project Manager
∎ Establishing a system of documentation on participants in training courses and in monitoring the effects of training by follow up visits and discussions
∎ Maintain contact with host community, Local Govt. and Local Media and developed networks with leaders from People’s Organizations (Forums),
∎ Organize advocacy event involving community people local government and government institutions
∎ Guiding Community Organizers in forming Women’s Organizations (Forums) and Watch Committee. Provide necessary support to the Women’s Organization for smooth functioning.
∎ Providing leadership, management, technical, administrative and legal support, for smooth operation of the Women Organizations.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 35 years
∎ At least 4 years of professional experience in the similar position
∎ Experience in Organizing advocacy and Campaign
∎ Networking Skill
∎ Report writing skill
∎ Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, problem solving skills
∎ Commitment to local capacity building and the ability to engage local stakeholders in achievement project goal
∎ Training facilitation skill
∎ Good understanding on local Govt. structure
∎ Excellent written and oral communication skills.
∎ Computer skill
∎ Knowledge on Climate Change will be added advantage
Salary: Tk. 20000 - 25000 (Monthly)
