• Marine Engineer (Class 3 certificate preferred)

• Sea-going experience as Third Engineer or above will be an advantage

• Age 32 to 45 years

Experience Requirements

• 6–10 years of relevant professional experience

• Must include:

o Sea-going experience as a Marine Engineer

o Practical experience in shipyard, ship recycling yard, dockyard, or heavy industrial workshop

• Proven experience in generator overhauling and heavy machinery maintenance

Additional Requirements

• Strong practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems

• Ability to independently manage workshop operations and manpower

• Sound understanding of industrial safety practices

• Leadership capability and team management skills

• Ability to work under pressure in an industrial environment

Job Context

BOB Recyclers is looking for a competent and experienced Production Manager with a Marine Engineering background, preferably with sea-going experience as a Third Engineer and strong hands-on exposure in shipyard or heavy industrial operations.

The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing production activities, managing mechanical workshops, and ensuring efficient operation and maintenance of generators and heavy machinery within the ship recycling yard.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise and control day-to-day production and workshop operations at the yard

• Oversee operation, maintenance, and overhauling of:

o Diesel Generators (DG Sets)

o Heavy mechanical and hydraulic machinery

• Establish, manage, and supervise a mechanical workshop under own leadership

• Lead and manage technicians, mechanics, welders, electricians, and fitters

• Implement preventive and breakdown maintenance schedules

• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, risk assessments, and yard regulations

• Maintain maintenance logs, job cards, and technical records

• Reduce machinery downtime and improve operational efficiency

• Coordinate with management on technical planning and production targets
