Job Purpose.
To ensure efficient and uninterrupted automobile assembly operations by planning, coordinating, and supervising production activities while maintaining required quality, safety, productivity, and cost standards. The Production Engineer is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, achieving production targets, minimizing defects and downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to ensure timely delivery of high-quality vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Distribute daily work assignments among workers of Assembly, Paint, Body, Welding, and Machine Shops as per production plans and targets.

• Supervise and monitor vehicle assembly operations to ensure production schedules are achieved.

• Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the assembly, fabrication, painting, and finishing processes.

• Monitor cabin, chassis, body, and component manufacturing activities and take corrective actions where necessary.

• Prepare and review production orders, material requisitions, and work schedules to ensure uninterrupted production flow.

• Coordinate with Stores and Procurement to ensure timely availability of production materials and components.

• Assist in drawing interpretation, process planning, fixture design, and implementation of engineering modifications.

• Supervise fabrication, welding, fitting, and repair works as per engineering specifications.

• Monitor paint preparation, painting operations, and final finishing quality of vehicles and components.

• Support new model development, prototype assembly, and process improvement initiatives.

• Coordinate vehicle testing, inspection, and rectification activities before final delivery.

• Assist in local parts development, localization projects, and engineering change implementation.

• Participate in special projects involving vehicle modification, engine installation, electrical integration, and component upgrades.

• Ensure proper utilization of manpower, machines, tools, and equipment to maximize productivity.

• Monitor production KPIs, prepare reports, and recommend measures for efficiency improvement.

• Coordinate with Quality Control team to investigate and resolve production-related defects and customer complaints.

• Ensure compliance with workplace safety requirements, PPE usage, and company policies.

• Train and guide technicians, operators, and workers on production processes and quality standards.

• Maintain production records, inspection reports, and other operational documentation.

• Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor or management from time to time.
