Job Responsibilities:
∎ This position is directly reporting to Head Office in Hong Kong and France
∎ Participate in planning the short, medium and long-term strategy for Quality Control and Technical department for Bangladesh Sourcing office. Develop strategic and tactical sourcing plans to meet the targets according to the agreed business plan. Implement the approved business plan within the own area of responsibility.
∎ Represent the Bangladesh Sourcing Office to establish relationship with key
∎ Stakeholders like government authority, local authorities and vendors etc. Communicate regularly with the people in charge in the factories. Take part in regular meetings internally and externally.
∎ Lead, develop and motivate the subordinates. Make people related decisions in
∎ accordance with company guideline. Implement effective organizational structures and processes in the area of responsibility.
∎ Support designers and buyers through market intelligence, trend report, and fabric and style developments. Manage the whole production processes in respect of scheduling, quality and pricing and decide about the materials to be used in order to meet the defined quality standards. Implement adjusted processes where necessary. Find new factories to produce our brand either by searching, contacting after application for partnership or recommendation by others. Decide about contracting them in co-operation with the superior. Train them in how to meet our Company Quality Standards. Stop cooperation with factories that fail to produce according agreements to Quality, time line or pricing on a regular basis.
∎ Manage all relevant Quality and Technical processes, internal and external, that are necessary to run the complete production process according to timeline, quality and calculated costs. Manage change processes and procedures.
∎ Propose appropriate factories to produce our products. Control quality on the basis of an objective benchmark system and control factories in order to get down defaults and therefore effecting pricing.
∎ Review different Quality related reports from the team and make decisions
∎ Collaborate with Head Office for updated Quality and Technical standards and train team members accordingly
∎ Review garments supplier performance and update Country Manager and Head Office Regularly
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 40 years
∎ At least 20 years experience in Garments/ Buying/ Liaison Office in Quality Assurance Department, preferably with France based brands/ Liaison Office.
∎ A solid background in apparel sourcing with a stronger quality control and technical experience in Bangladesh Textile Market will be a plus.
∎ The candidate must have a proven record of managing Quality and Technical team in sourcing offices, and must have proven experience in managing people and teams in the Indian sub-continent.
∎ The candidate must be strategic, have a great sense of organization and rigourosity, articulate and capable of driving change.
