Responsibilities & Context:

Job Summary

The Procurement Manager is responsible for planning, sourcing, purchasing, and ensuring the timely availability of raw materials, feed additives, packaging materials, spare parts, and services required for feed mill operations. The role focuses on cost optimization, supplier management, quality assurance, inventory control, and uninterrupted production support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for feed mill operations.

  • Source raw materials such as maize, soybean meal, rice bran, wheat bran, DDGS, vitamins, minerals, premixes, and feed additives.

  • Conduct supplier evaluation, selection, and qualification processes.

  • Obtain quotations, prepare comparative statements, and negotiate prices, payment terms, and contracts.

  • Ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.

  • Monitor supplier performance regarding quality, delivery, and service levels.

  • Resolve supplier disputes, claims, and non-conformance issues.

  • Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews.

  • Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, and Quality teams to forecast material requirements.

  • Maintain optimum inventory levels to avoid stock-outs and overstocking.

  • Monitor material consumption trends and prepare procurement plans.

  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to support uninterrupted production.

  • Monitor commodity market trends and price movements.

  • Conduct market research and supplier benchmarking.

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategic sourcing initiatives.

  • Prepare procurement reports and management dashboards.
