Educational Requirements:
∎ MS/Ph.D. in Genetics & Plant Breeding with B.Sc.Ag(Hons) from any Public Agriculture University.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 10 year(s)
Job Context:
∎ Department: R&D Rice
∎ Job Location: R&D and Plant Office, Bashon, Gazipur
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Undertaking breeding program for developing varieties and execution of the same
∎ Germ Plasm collection and numbering with its evaluation and characterizations
∎ Field lay out designing and plantation according to layout
∎ Data collection and its analysis
∎ Hybridity test of crops.
∎ Maintenance breeding through selection of parental lines as well open pollination varieties
∎ Maintenance of GeneBank
∎ Preparation of work schedule for Breeders and Pollinators and monitoring of their activities
∎ Making variety flow list
∎ Keeping record and reporting for research works for all crops
∎ Any other tasks assigned by the Management as and when required.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 40 to 45 years
∎ Must have 10 years practical working experience in rice breeding, CMS development, restorer maintenance, hybrid rice variety development and exposure in hybrid rice seed production process, experience in variety release process, project development and execution, communication and liaison with Govt., NGOs and International organizations.
∎ Proactive and enthusiastic with good command in English language for reporting
∎ Computer literacy with all MS Office applications
