Responsibilities & Context:
  • Source and purchase grain crops such as Corn, Soybeans, Mustard seeds, Garlics, etc., based on company demand and market conditions. Negotiate purchase terms with local suppliers to secure the best price and quality.

  • Monitor grain crop prices, trends, seasonal variations, and local supply conditions. Use market insights to guide purchasing decisions.

  • Perform quality checks at the point of purchase to ensure the grain meets company standards. Work with quality assurance teams to confirm that delivered crops meet the required specifications.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local farmers, suppliers, and traders to ensure a reliable network for grain procurement. Track supplier performance regarding price, delivery reliability, and quality.

  • Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely transport and storage of procured goods. Align inventory management with purchasing needs.

  • Document all purchases in the company’s procurement system, including details on suppliers, prices, quantities, and quality checks. Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.

  • Monitor and manage costs associated with spot purchases, seek cost-effective procurement options, and identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining product quality and supply reliability.
