Education:
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with a valid BM&DC registration.
Training / certified course in ultrasonography (CMU/ DMU).
06 (six) months’ experience in providing Primary Health care (PHC)/ Essential Services Packages (ESP)
Excellent counselling, communication and interpersonal skills.
Punctuality and Time management skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of political and ethical issues.
Ability to present problem-solving/analytical skills in clinical programs.
Work independently with minimal supervision
Position Summary: The Medical Officer will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical and essential health services in accordance with SHN standards, protocols, and applicable policies. The position will ensure comprehensive primary healthcare services with a focus on maternal, neonatal, child and adolescent health, sexual and reproductive health, communicable and non-communicable diseases, and management of common health conditions. S/he will perform minor surgical procedures and ultrasound services as required, manage obstetric and neonatal emergencies, and support quality assurance, infection prevention, safe waste disposal, and technical capacity building activities under the guidance of respective authorities.
Relationships: Reports to Clinic Manager
Job Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality ESP services as per SHN standards and protocol.
Assist Clinic Manager to maintain Quality Circle at the clinic level.
Assist Clinic Manager for expansion and rollout of ESP services.
Comply with TIAHRT policy.
Assist Clinic Manager to implement QMS
Ensure standard infection prevention procedure and safe waste disposal system in the clinic
Provide hands-on training for the technical staff as and when necessary.
Take initiative to increase client satisfaction.
Conduct/ support safe normal deliveries according to SHN standards, protocol and national guidelines.
Assist surgeon to perform C/S.
Provide care for preoperative and postoperative clients.
Manage any obstetric and neonatal emergencies.
Communicate with on-call surgeons, pediatricians and anesthetists.
Provide maternal, child and general health care services.
Carry out other duties as and when assigned by the authority concerned.
