Job Context:
∎ To be based in Dhaka and reports to the Program Operations Director
∎ The contract will be till 30 September 2023
∎ Position Overview: The primary responsibilities of the Manager- Digital Content Development is to ensure that effective, appropriate and high quality training materials are designed and developed. This includes working with Quality Reading Materials (QRM), Instructional Design and Teachers Support (IDTS), and Communication & Documentation (C&D) units of Room to Read Bangladesh - to identify the training and curriculum related digital content needs. The Manager- Digital Content Development is also responsible for planning, communicating and coordinating with the technical teams for all aspects of digital content development initiatives including designing original content, reviewing, editing, producing and negotiating agreements. The position may also require some travel within the country and involves frequent interaction with material development consultants, illustrators and digital content makers, and also with relevant government officials for necessary approval. The position will report directly to the Program Operations Director.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Program Management, Contextualization, Training and Coordination (80%):
∎ Responsible for overall digital content development in coordination with relevant program units.
∎ Responsible for setting criteria for engaging, relevant and culturally appropriate digital content that is highly functional as a tool for learning.
∎ Arrange for bidding process along with Administration to select appropriate and capable vendors (production houses) in order to produce digital content.
∎ Review and finalize text for Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)/ Terms of Reference (ToR) to be signed with the vendors along with issuance of work/purchase order, as appropriate.
∎ Make all required arrangement for development, review, editing and finalization of the digital content.
∎ Edit and proofread scripts/subtitles to be used for development of the digital content to ensure lucidity of language (English and Bengali), ensure appropriate text, narrative and subtitle.
∎ Determine AV design, AV formats and pre- as well as post-production tasks as part of the developmental process of the digital content.
∎ Cooperate with Administration in entering into copyright agreement with related vendors, script writers, illustrators or any other consultants.
∎ Ensure that Room to Read guidelines are adhered to engaging and working with vendors, consultants, writers and illustrators and other technical persons or government officials.
∎ Ensure that Intellectual property Rights (IPRs) is protected by the system of laws as appropriate and exists in the country.
∎ Ensure involvement of performers, consultants and anchors as appropriate for development of high quality digital content.
∎ Ensure quality final outputs with appropriate graphic design, color corrections and consistency in color, contrast and resolution, video and audio effects, background music, etc.
∎ Ensure that Room to Read Bangladesh reserves the rights of all information, teaching-learning materials, video and audio and also digital, cyber, project documents, etc), which the vendors/consultancy firms may come into contact while producing the digital content.
∎ Planning, Budgeting, Reporting, and Documentation (15%):
∎ In collaboration with CO Program Operations Team, create, implement and analyze annual program goals and budgets to ensure alignment with the project strategies and priorities.
∎ Collaborate with the CO Program Operations Team on development of implementation calendars, budgets, annual planning, monthly implementation updates (MIU), quarterly reports and the overall tracking of the program implementation and spending.
∎ Prepare monthly forecast and complete monthly expense reports.
∎ Review and ensure approvals of Purchase Requisition, specifications and event budgets, and coordinate with Administration for procurement.
∎ External Coordination and Networking (5%):
∎ Establish and manage relationships with other NGO's, government officials and local educational facilities/authorities.
∎ Liaise with other teams within Room to Read to coordinate workflows and share program information.
∎ Participate in any other activities that need to be undertaken to fulfill the objectives of the organization and the project.
∎ Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the Program Operations Director

Additional Requirements:
∎ A minimum of 10 years of related professional work experience
∎ Strong leadership and management skills
∎ Experience in the successful implementation of a wide range of tasks
∎ Experience in developing and implementing programmatic improvements
∎ Prior success in working closely and building relationships with diverse groups of people and organizations
∎ Ability and desire to travel frequently to working areas in the country (about 20-25 percent of time)
∎ Effectiveness in working or volunteering in a non-profit organization that is focused on maintaining high quality work and low overhead
∎ Prior experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented global or regional organization
∎ Proven track record of achieving results
∎ Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
∎ Ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously
∎ Preferred:
∎ Experience on documentary/short film making, video editing, shooting, producing and airing AV education materials
∎ A master's degree in the related field of study
∎ Prior experience on teaching-learning material development.
