• Minimum 5 years of experience in charting in shipping lines.

• A captain or Chief engineer with chartering experience will get preference.

• Develop and implement strategic plans for chartering operations to meet company objectives.

• Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure alignment with overall business goals.

• Provide accurate cost and revenue projections for potential charters.

• Conduct thorough due diligence on potential charterers, vessels, and market conditions.

• Lead negotiations with shipowners, charterers, and brokers to secure optimal charter terms.

• Address inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner.

• Evaluate chartering proposals, assessing risks and benefits.

• Identify and source suitable cargoes to match with available vessels, and collaborate with commercial teams to maximize cargo opportunities.

• Review and confirm Charter Party agreements, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual requirements.

• Co-ordinate and support intra-departmental issues.

• Optimize/maximize charter hire/freight as per the Baltic Dry Index (BDI).

• Play a pivotal role in integrating sustainability practices into Akij Resources, driving environmental responsibility, and fostering a culture of social and ethical consciousness.

• Drive and implement operational excellence initiatives to optimize efficiency, streamline processes, and enhance overall organizational performance within Akij Resources
