Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assisting the business (including manufacturing (Global Supply Chain), marketing, sales & distribution, and Leaf etc.) with developing an improved understanding of tobacco and commercial regulations, as well as improved capability to communicate/discuss/align on legal issues in a timely and appropriate manner;
∎ Advising on commercial law, including contracts and commercial issues
∎ Drafting, reviewing and negotiating general commercial contracts (e.g. trading, purchasing, supply, service, distribution agreements, etc.)
∎ Advising the business on product or factory (including leaf-related) regulation, including reviewing developments and legislation on relevant legal and regulatory matters and informing the business
∎ Advising on packaging and marketing activities
∎ Advising on licensing applications and renewals
∎ Advising the business on employment, data protection, consumer protection, competition, anti-corruption and bribery and other relevant laws to ensure compliance
∎ Assisting in corporate secretarial duties and advising the business on corporate governance related issues
∎ Advising and assisting on reduced risk products' matters, if any and regulatory affairs
∎ Assisting in defending the company's interests and advocating certain corporate positions
∎ Assisting in matters related to JTI's entities in Bangladesh, including corporate governance, leases, contracts, industrial relations and labor matters.
∎ Assisting the Legal team on business projects or initiatives for the Asia Pacific markets
∎ Assisting the Legal team in developing and rolling out Legal functional initiatives, such as training, conferences, know-how, etc.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 26 to 35 years
∎ Must have high court enrollment
∎ Previous in-house experience desirable but not essential
∎ Excellent legal and analytical skills appropriate to experience
∎ Excellent communication skills in English and Bengali, both verbal and written.
∎ Experience in drafting and reviewing general commercial contracts in English and Bengali.
∎ Regulatory and/or litigation experience would be desirable.
∎ Basic awareness of employment, competition and intellectual property (i.e. trademarks, copyright, etc.) law principles.
∎ Ability to understand the business, its strategies, its people and its organization structures
∎ Awareness of legal and commercial risks
∎ Ability to interact confidently with members of the organization at different levels
∎ Dynamic, proactive and flexible, with an ability to identify and act upon opportunities with confidence
∎ Ability to deliver advice in a clear logical manner
∎ Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
∎ Attention to detail and a desire to execute with excellence
∎ A team player, adaptable, a keen learner, with a passion for an in-house legal career
∎ Computer literate - good working knowledge of Word/ Excel/ PowerPoint
∎ Ability to travel both inside and outside the country.
