Matter Solutions is an SEO Agency in Australia. We’re looking for a skilled PHP Web Developer with a particular talent with Laravel to join our growing team.

(REQUIRED) Laravel & Web Development Skills

• Have you built and maintained a Laravel Web App?

• Have you created functionality from sketches to prototypes and onward to a final product in conjunction with a Product Owner and teammates?

• You will be expected to solve complex problems, maintain existing systems with RESTful APIs and investigate and debug when issues arise. How’s your maths?

• Can you plan your work? Can you recognise the need for input, meet with the experts required and ask questions to gather what you need?

• Can you take ownership of a codebase, e.g. your piece?

• SEO knowledge would be a nice to have

(DESIRED SKILLS) WordPress Skills

If you have one or more of the following skills we want to know.

• WordPress - Custom Plugin Development. Many web developers are familiar with WordPress, but can you create and customize plugins?

• WordPress - Build Websites. Build websites from an existing structure, and be skilled enough to improve our structure. If you have either of the following skills they are highly valued, please tell us and give details.

• Building and managing Gutenberg blocks - from scratch or with plugins.

• WordPress Security - Know something about the vulnerabilities and (1) how to harden WordPress and (2) how to follow procedures to keep websites up to date and secure.

The Role

You will report to the Agency Director (Australia) who is also the Product Owner of an incubated SaaS project.

You will work alongside our Web Developers (Laravel & WordPress) who are also based in Bangladesh.

AI are tools are standard at Matter Solutions, e.g. Claude Code, and/or Cursor. We want you to have the tools you need to magnify your value.

Generate reliable and robust solutions in the following technologies.

• WordPress Security: We have a long established Laravel app which is incrementally improved (Kaizen) and helps us manage a large number of WordPress clients and their security.

• WordPress Plugin Development: We often build plugins some of which have RESTful API endpoints.

• Building RESTful API endpoints for plugins to use is a highly desirable skill, but not a requirement as we can train you on how to build them (our way).

Applicants, please be ready to discuss and demonstrate your understanding of these skills, concepts and day to day responsibilities.
