Job Summary:

The Lab Trainee Officer assists with veterinary diagnostic work in farms and hatcheries across Bangladesh. Duties include sample collection, disease monitoring, post-mortem support, and routine lab tests (serology, microbiology, pathology, and molecular diagnostics). The role also ensures SOP compliance, biosafety, waste management, accurate record keeping, QA/QC, and field visits for flock health monitoring. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and willingness to travel frequently are required.

Job Responsibilities

• Collect samples from breeder farms, commercial broiler and layer farms, hatcheries, and agro projects.

• Perform regular post-mortem examinations in breeder farms, hatcheries, broiler integration projects, and commercial layer projects.

• Conduct laboratory tests efficiently such as Microbiological culture, microscopic examination, HI, ELISA, Mycotoxin, and PCR according to SOP and develop new test protocols when required.

• Perform DOC quality monitoring at hatchery, hatchery vaccination monitoring, hygiene sanitation follow up

• Visit breeder farms regularly for bird health monitoring and diseases investigation and observe effects of different risk factors on farm productivity.

• Collect biological samples including blood, serum, organs, swabs, feed, water, litter, etc. Maintain and follow up laboratory biosafety and biosecurity strictly.

• Supervise laboratory washing, cleaning, disinfection and waste management activities properly.

• Ensure QAQC during laboratory testing and related activities.

• Maintain laboratory store management and record-keeping.

• Ensure discipline and maintain good laboratory practices (GLP) before, during, and after work.
