∎ A Junior JAVA Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) specializing in Java typically has responsibilities centered around ensuring the quality of software products through testing, automation, and collaboration with development teams.
∎ Core Responsibilities
∎ 1. Test Automation Development
∎ - Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Java and testing frameworks such as Selenium, TestNG, or JUnit.
∎ - Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar.
∎ 2. Manual Testing
∎ - Conduct exploratory and manual testing to identify bugs in software systems when automation isn't feasible.
∎ - Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to understand requirements and design effective test cases.
∎ 3. Bug Reporting and Tracking
∎ - Identify, document, and track defects using bug tracking tools like Jira.
∎ - Work with developers to reproduce, debug, and resolve reported issues.
∎ 4. Test Framework Maintenance
∎ - Maintain and enhance the existing test automation framework to ensure scalability and ease of use.
∎ - Implement best practices for code quality in test scripts.
∎ 5. Code Reviews and Collaboration
∎ - Participate in code reviews for test scripts and contribute to improving team standards.
∎ - Collaborate with development teams to ensure testability of the code and alignment with business requirements.

∎ - Contribute to performance testing using tools like JMeter or Gatling.
∎ - Assist in identifying security vulnerabilities during testing.

∎ - Support the creation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to facilitate automated testing during deployments.
