∎ 1+ year in a SOC or cybersecurity monitoring role (preferred, not required).
∎ Strong attention to detail, effective communication, and a proactive attitude toward learning.
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Monitor security events and alerts using SIEM and EDR tools.
∎ Perform initial triage of incidents, analyzing severity and escalating when needed.
∎ Perform initial incident detection and classification, evaluating the severity and determining necessary response actions.
∎ Execute incident response playbooks and document findings accurately.
∎ Leverage threat intelligence feeds to identify indicators of compromise (IOCs) and assess their relevance to the environment.
∎ Conduct basic threat hunting and log analysis.
∎ Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports on security events, incidents, and trends for management and compliance purposes.
∎ Analyze logs from various sources (firewalls, IDS/IPS, application logs, etc.) to identify anomalous activity and potential threats.
∎ Help configure, maintain, and update security tools such as SIEM, EDR, and firewalls, ensuring that they remain effective.
∎ Support vulnerability scanning and patch management by identifying vulnerable systems and assisting in remediation efforts.
∎ Collaborate with teams to design and build secure cloud architectures.
∎ Research and evaluate open-source tools and technologies for cloud security and cloud engineering.
∎ Develop and implement security protocols and best practices within cloud environments.
∎ Correlate events from different security tools and platforms to identify patterns of attack or compromise.
∎ Stay updated on cybersecurity threats and trends.
∎ Shift Details: Rotational shifts covering 24/7 operations, including weekends and nights.
∎ Security certifications/practitioner (e.g., CompTIA Security+, BTL1 , CEH, OSCP) are highly advantageous.
∎ Hands-on experience with platforms such as CTF, TryHackMe, LetsDefend and HackTheBox for practical cybersecurity challenges.
