Position Summary
DTech Corporation Limited is seeking a highly competent and experienced HVAC Engineer to lead, supervise, and execute HVAC-related projects from design development through installation and completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed HVAC drawings, performing cooling and ventilation load calculations, coordinating with site teams, and ensuring successful local installation of system designs.
This role requires strong technical expertise in HVAC systems, along with sound knowledge of MEP services, including exposure to electrical and power infrastructure systems such as generators, substations, and transformers. The engineer must be capable of managing multiple projects, maintaining engineering standards, and coordinating effectively with consultants, contractors, clients, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
HVAC Design and Engineering
Prepare complete HVAC system designs for residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
Perform detailed cooling load, heat load, and ventilation load calculations using appropriate engineering methods and software.
Develop and review shop drawings, layout drawings, sectional details, schematic drawings, and as-built drawings for HVAC systems.
Design and select HVAC equipment including chillers, VRF/VRV systems, package units, ducted split units, air handling units, ventilation fans, pumps, ducts, diffusers, grilles, and associated accessories.
Ensure all HVAC designs comply with project specifications, local codes, industry standards, and client requirements.
Review design feasibility, system performance, energy efficiency, and installation practicality before execution.
Project Oversight and Execution
Oversee all HVAC projects under the company and ensure timely and proper completion.
Coordinate project activities from design stage to procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.
Monitor project schedules, technical deliverables, and work progress to ensure deadlines are met.
Conduct site inspections and supervise installation activities to ensure systems are installed as per approved drawings and technical standards.
Resolve design and site-related technical issues during execution.
Support site teams with technical guidance for ducting, piping, insulation, equipment installation, air distribution, and system balancing.
Installation and Site Coordination
Be actively involved in local installation and site implementation of HVAC system designs.
Coordinate with civil, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection teams to avoid clashes and ensure smooth site execution.
Review site conditions and adapt designs where necessary while maintaining system efficiency and compliance.
Supervise testing, commissioning, air balancing, and performance validation of installed HVAC systems.
Ensure all installations meet quality, safety, and operational requirements.
MEP Coordination
Work closely with other MEP disciplines to ensure fully coordinated designs and installations.
Review and understand mechanical, electrical, and plumbing integration requirements for all projects.
Assist in overall MEP planning, coordination meetings, and technical submissions.
Identify interface issues between HVAC and other MEP services and recommend practical engineering solutions.
Electrical / Power System Awareness
Maintain working knowledge of related infrastructure systems including:
• Generators
• Substations
• Transformers
Coordinate HVAC design requirements with electrical load availability and power distribution systems.
Understand equipment power demands, backup requirements, and electrical system compatibility.
Support coordination between HVAC systems and building power infrastructure during design and installation stages.
Documentation and Reporting
Prepare technical reports, BOQs, material specifications, method statements, and equipment schedules.
Review contractor/vendor technical submittals, catalogues, and material approvals.
Maintain accurate project records including calculations, revisions, drawings, and commissioning documents.
Prepare progress reports and update management on project status, challenges, and solutions.
Quality, Safety, and Compliance
Ensure all HVAC works are carried out in accordance with company standards, engineering best practices, and safety requirements.
Verify compliance with local regulations, codes, and applicable international standards.
Support quality control inspections and ensure corrective actions are implemented when necessary.
Promote safe work practices during installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
