  • Postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage

  • 10–15 years of progressive experience in Industrial Engineering

  • Strong exposure to Knit Garments / Knit Composite factories

  • Demonstrated experience working in plant or factory leadership roles



Responsibilities & Context:

Overview

The Head of Production & Industrial Engineering is a senior leadership role responsible for end-to-end ownership of production planning, execution, productivity, efficiency, method engineering, and IE governance across Cutting, Sewing, and Finishing operations.

This is not a support function. The role carries direct accountability for production output, cost control, operational efficiency, enforcement of IE discipline, and buyer-facing compliance requirements. Reporting directly to the Plant Head / Managing Director, the position operates as a core member of the factory leadership team, with a decisive influence on cost structure, delivery reliability, production performance, and buyer confidence

Key Responsibilities

1. Industrial Engineering Leadership & Ownership

  • Own and lead all Industrial Engineering functions across Cutting, Sewing, and Finishing.

  • Act as the final decision-making authority on IE matters, including layout approval, line configuration, manpower deployment, and method engineering.

2. Layout, Flow & Method Governance

  • Plan, approve, and continuously improve Man–Machine–Material (3M) layouts.

  • Govern method study and workplace engineering to ensure disciplined, standardized operations.

3. SMV, Capacity & Line Control

  • Establish and control SMV setting, capacity planning, and line balancing as factory standards.

  • Ensure alignment between IE planning and production execution.

4. Productivity Improvement & Bottleneck Resolution

  • Identify and resolve productivity losses, workflow constraints, and inefficiencies at plant level.

  • Drive sustainable improvement initiatives embedded into standard practices.

5. Operator Skill Matrix & Audit Readiness

  • Ensure complete and audit-ready operator skill matrix and skill cards with photograph, machine type, and operation category.

  • Act as IE focal point during buyer and compliance audits.

6. Buyer, Compliance & Governance Alignment

  • Ensure IE systems, documentation, and practices align with buyer expectations and social compliance requirements.

  • Support audits and ensure closure of IE-related observations.

7. Supply Chain and Monitoring

  • Timely Raw material in-house

  • Approval (Material and product) monitoring

8. Cross-Functional Plant Leadership

  • Work closely with Production, Planning, HR, and Quality to safeguard delivery, compliance, and profitability.

9. IE Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead, control, and develop the Industrial Engineering team with clear authority and accountability.
