Job Summary

The Head of ETP is responsible for overall planning, operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the Effluent Treatment Plant to ensure proper wastewater treatment and compliance with environmental regulations, buyer standards, and sustainability requirements. The role ensures safe discharge, operational efficiency, and effective team management.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Ensure smooth, safe, and continuous operation of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP)

·       Monitor daily wastewater treatment processes including biological, chemical, and physical treatments

·       Maintain treated water quality within discharge standards set by Department of Environment and buyer compliance requirements

·       Supervise inlet and outlet water testing (pH, BOD, COD, TSS, TDS, etc.)

·       Ensure proper sludge management, disposal, and waste handling procedures

·       Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly operational logs and reports

·       Ensure compliance with all environmental laws, permits, and regulatory standards

·       Coordinate and lead environmental audits, inspections, and certifications

·       Implement preventive and breakdown maintenance plans for all ETP machinery and equipment

·       Oversee maintenance of pumps, blowers, dosing systems, clarifiers, pipelines, and lab instruments

·       Control chemical dosing and optimize chemical consumption

·       Monitor utilities usage and improve plant efficiency to reduce operational costs

·       Lead, supervise, and train ETP operators, technicians, and laboratory staff

·       Prepare duty rosters, shift schedules, and manpower planning

·       Ensure safe storage and handling of chemicals and hazardous materials

·       Enforce workplace safety standards and proper use of PPE

·       Maintain all compliance documents, SOPs, manuals, and records

·       Coordinate with Production, Utility, Compliance, and Management departments

·       Support buyers and third-party auditors during factory visits and inspections

·       Drive water conservation, recycling, and sustainability initiatives

·       Identify process improvements and recommend technology upgrades

·       Prepare annual budgets and monitor operational expenses

Liaise with government authorities, consultants, and external service providers
