JOB SUMMARY:
Majesto Limited is seeking a talented and innovative Mechanical Designer with hands-on experience in Gas Lift Systems used in office chairs and ergonomic furniture. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and improving gas lift mechanisms and related metal components while ensuring compliance with international quality and safety standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and develop gas lift systems and related mechanical components for furniture.
Prepare 2D drawings, 3D models and manufacturing documentation using CAD software.
Conduct engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and design validation.
Develop prototypes and coordinate product testing and validation.
Analyze product failures and implement design improvements.
Ensure compliance with BIFMA, ANSI, ISO, and other applicable standards.
Coordinate with tooling, production, procurement and quality teams for smooth product implementation.
Optimize product performance, manufacturability, and production costs.
Prepare technical reports, BOMs, and engineering change documentation.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial & Production Engineering (IPE), or a related Engineering Discipline.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design.
At least 3 years of direct experience in designing or developing Gas Lift Systems for different types of chairs or ergonomic furniture.
Experience in furniture hardware, metal fabrication, or chair component manufacturing will be highly preferred.
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of Gas Lift Mechanisms and chair engineering.
Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software.
GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
Material selection and metal component design.
Prototype development and product testing.
Knowledge of BIFMA, ANSI and ISO standards.
