Job Responsibilities:
∎ Coffee Preparation: As a Head Barista, your primary responsibility is to oversee and ensure the preparation of high-quality coffee beverages. This involves selecting and grinding coffee beans, preparing espresso shots, and creating various coffee-based drinks, such as cappuccinos, lattes, and macchiatos.
∎ Mocktails preparation: Should be expert in making mocktail drinks.
∎ Menu Development: You may be involved in developing and expanding the coffee menu. This includes creating new recipes, experimenting with different flavor combinations, and introducing seasonal or specialty beverages to attract customers and enhance their experience.
∎ Training and Supervision: As the head of the barista team, you'll be responsible for training and supervising other baristas. This involves conducting training sessions to ensure consistency in coffee preparation, teaching proper techniques, and providing guidance on customer service and presentation.
∎ Quality Control: Maintaining consistent quality in coffee preparation is crucial. As the Head Barista, you'll be responsible for regularly monitoring the quality of beverages, ensuring they meet the established standards. This includes taste, temperature, appearance, and presentation.
∎ Equipment Maintenance: You'll oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of coffee-making equipment, such as espresso machines, grinders, and milk. Regular maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting any equipment issues are essential to ensure the smooth operation of the coffee bar.
∎ Inventory Management: Tracking inventory and ordering supplies are part of your responsibilities. You'll need to monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other ingredients, and place orders to maintain an adequate supply. Effective inventory management helps prevent shortages or wastage.
∎ Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service is crucial in a barista role. As the Head Barista, you'll set the example for your team by delivering exceptional service, interacting with customers, taking orders, and ensuring their satisfaction. Handling customer complaints or special requests may also be part of your role.
∎ Collaboration with Management: Depending on the establishment, you may collaborate with management to develop promotional strategies, participate in marketing efforts, and contribute to the overall business growth. This can involve suggesting new initiatives or improvements to enhance the coffee bar's reputation and profitability.
