Experience:
Strong knowledge of Bangladesh Labour Law and Fire Safety regulations.
Good understanding of BNBC and NFPA fire safety requirements.
Familiarity with Accord/RSC/Better Work fire safety standards will be an advantage.
Ability to prepare reports using MS Office applications.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to conduct training programs independently.
Capable of responding effectively during emergency situations.
Must have six months fire safety training course from Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense (BFSD).
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Fire Safety, Fire Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering will receive preference.
Ensure full compliance with Fire Service & Civil Defense requirements, Bangladesh Labour Act, Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC) and buyer Codes of Conduct.
Conduct regular fire safety inspections throughout the factory, warehouse, utility buildings, and office areas.
Monitor the condition and functionality of fire extinguishers, hydrants, hose reels, fire pumps, sprinkler systems, smoke detectors, fire alarm systems, emergency lights, exit signage and fire doors.
Organize and conduct monthly fire drills and emergency evacuation exercises.
Develop, review, and update Emergency Response Plans (ERP) and fire evacuation procedures.
Train employees, Fire Fighting Teams, Search & Rescue Teams, First Aid Teams, and Floor Wardens on fire prevention, earthquake and emergency response.
Maintain all fire safety records, inspection reports, drill reports, training records, and compliance documentation.
Coordinate inspections and licensing activities with Bangladesh Fire Service & Civil Defense.
Support buyer social compliance audits, including Betterwork, BSCI, SEDEX, ICS, Primark, H&M, Inditex, Kmart, Target, and other customer audits.
Investigate fire incidents and near misses and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Conduct fire risk assessments and identify potential hazards.
Ensure emergency exits, evacuation routes, assembly points, and firefighting equipment remain unobstructed and operational.
Coordinate preventive maintenance of fire protection systems with engineering and maintenance teams.
Prepare monthly fire safety performance reports for management.
Promote fire safety awareness throughout the organization.
