Key Responsibilities

1. Time Study & SMV

• Conduct time and motion studies for all sewing operations.

• Calculate Standard Minute Value (SMV) for new and existing garment styles.

• Develop operation breakdowns and operation bulletins.

• Establish standard methods for sewing operations.

2. Line Planning & Balancing

• Prepare production line layouts based on garment style.

• Perform line balancing to achieve maximum line efficiency.

• Monitor hourly production output and line performance.

• Adjust manpower allocation to minimise bottlenecks.

3. Capacity Planning

• Calculate daily, weekly, and monthly production capacity.

• Determine manpower and machine requirements.

• Coordinate with Production and Planning teams to meet shipment schedules.

• Monitor capacity utilisation and recommend improvements.

4. Production Efficiency

• Monitor operator, line, and factory efficiency.

• Analyse production losses and identify root causes.

• Recommend corrective actions to improve productivity.

• Monitor style changeover and reduce setup time.

5. Costing Support

• Provide SMV for garment costing.

• Assist the Merchandising and Costing teams during price estimation.

• Recommend process improvements to reduce production costs.

6. Continuous Improvement

• Implement Lean Manufacturing principles.

• Participate in Kaizen, 5S, and waste reduction initiatives.

• Improve workflow and workplace organisation.

• Eliminate non-value-added activities.

7. Data Analysis & Reporting

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly IE reports.

• Monitor production KPIs and prepare management reports.

• Maintain efficiency records and productivity analysis.

• Analyse absenteeism, downtime, and machine utilisation.

8. Training & Development

• Train supervisors and operators on standard operating methods.

• Support new style implementation and pilot runs.

• Guide production teams on best work practices.
