Educational Requirements:
∎ Graduate/Post Graduate is required, ideally in a related field such as Agriculture, Forestry, Environmental Science, Disaster Management, Development Studies, Social Science or related subject.

Job Context:
∎ Name of the Project: Strengthening Emergency Preparedness and building infrastructure for Disaster Vulnerable Communities in Bangladesh (STEP & BuildIn) Project
∎ Project Summary: Strengthening Emergency Preparedness and building infrastructure for Disaster Vulnerable Communities in Bangladesh (STEP & BuildIn) Project is aiming to improve the life and livelihood status of the vulnerable people by focusing on (i) Strengthening knowledge, response and recovery capacity of different stakeholders (ii) Reducing the disaster risk through improving physical structure and providing improve adaptive services to the community and (iii) Reducing the vulnerability of the community people through providing improved and alternative livelihoods.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsibilities of the Position and Duties Performed:
∎ Assist in strategic planning, designing and developing guidelines, framework, strategy, booklets etc. based on project and organizational requirements regarding disaster preparedness, climate change adaptation, mitigation as well as community risk reduction.
∎ Providing support and guiding Field Organizers to implement the project activities timely and smoothly.
∎ Prepared monthly/quarterly/yearly work plan with the support of Project Manager and prepared necessary report.
∎ Ensuring the selection of the vulnerable community/vulnerable household according to the criteria/disaster risk assessment.
∎ Facilitate and Guide Field Organizers for formation & management of Community Based Organizations.
∎ Develop Capacity Development Plan for community people and other stakeholders, organize training, workshop to enhance the disaster preparedness capacity.
∎ Develop training modules, interactive awareness materials (Booklet, Flip-chart, Poster, Leaflet etc) with the support of project manager, project coordinator.
∎ Follow up the progress of the planned activities of the project, take necessary actions immediately if any issue raised and coordinate with Project Manager to resolve.
∎ Regular communicate with different stakeholder at community, union and upazila level.
∎ Involve in community risk assessment, community planning and periodical monitoring.
∎ Organize advocacy workshops and events to raise the community voice for reducing the local level disaster risk.
∎ Highlights the achievements gained by the project in working areas by developing success stories, case studies, media coverages.
∎ Involve in beneficiary selection process for any kind of cash/input support (Agriculture, Water, AIGA, Structural/construction related support, Emergency Support etc) and ensure support to the most vulnerable household maintaining all the process.
∎ Assist team in purchasing, budgeting, preparing report related to finance following organizational policies.
∎ Supervision Given: Community Organizer.
∎ Supervision Received: Project Manager.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 30 to 45 years
∎ Position requires at least three years of experience in similar type of position. Experiences in disaster risk reduction, Climate Change Adaptation at local level, community development, livelihood improvement of vulnerable community is desired.
∎ Must have capacity in supervision, field monitoring, motivational and communication skill, networking and advocacy skill at local level, report writing both qualitative and quantitative, computer operation skill.
∎ Ability to operate with independence, under pressure, to meet deadlines and commitments.
∎ Proven ability to work as part of a team, and as part of a wider network, is essential.
∎ The commitment and drive to achieve challenging goals; a problem-solving attitude is essential.
∎ Cultural sensitivity and ability to respect and work well with people from different backgrounds and disciplines.
∎ Excellent computer operation skills including Microsoft Excel, MS word, power point, email and internet browsing.
∎ Driving motorcycle with valid driving license.
∎ Willingness to stay and operate project at remote area.
∎ Age Limit: 30-45 Years.
∎ Physical Requirements: Physically and mentally sound with good health, smart, energetic, ability to work in all situation and environment.

Salary: Tk. 35000 - 40000 (Monthly)
