∎ Bachelor’s degree in environmental science/geography /civil engineering/ hydrology/ water resource management or related disciplines.

∎ Highly potential candidates’ education & age will be flexible.
∎ Experience in capacity development on climate resilient integrated water resources management
∎ Knowledge of hydrological and ecological modelling using GIS and other tools
∎ A high level of proficiency in MS Office programs, particularly Excel and Word.
∎ Competence in writing evidence-based result-oriented reports.
∎ Experience in designing, implementing, and directing complex or multiple projects of strategic importance to water management
∎ Experience of working in market systems development related projects will be an added advantage.
∎ Understanding business models and hands on experience of developing business plan will also be considered as an advantage.
∎ Profound knowledge of sector related policies and tools such as: Bangladesh Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan 2009; Bangladesh Delta Plan 2100; Environment Conservation Rules 1995; Bangladesh Water Act 2013, Bangladesh Water Rules 2018, Gudelines of IWRM 2020, Participatory Water management rules 2000 and other related laws to IWRM. Local Government (Paurashava and Union Parishad) Act 2009.
∎ Excellent interpersonal skill and ability to provide effective support and to collaborate and coordinate across different teams from diverse background.
∎ Experience in surveying water bodies.
∎ Ability to communicate clearly via written, spoken, and graphical means in English and other relevant languages including ability to translate complex issues into concise and clear messages.
∎ Field experience in developing and implementing social and behaviour change advocacy, communication and public relations projects and programmes.
∎ Experience of working on programmes with similar goals. Experience working with IWRM at the municipal level would be an added advantage.
∎ Proven ability to work as an effective team member.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Play a vital role in implementing the IWRM related interventions at UP and Paurashava level
∎ Conduct periodic monitoring visits to the demonstration sites and assess progress of the implementation of integrated water resources management plans and subsequent reporting
∎ Support development of concept notes and ideas related to Climate resilient integrated water resources management.
∎ Develop capacity of particular stakeholders in assessing the role of water management, and integrating in water resources planning and decision-making
∎ Coordinate preparation, implementation and monitoring of project operational plans and activities in cooperation with particular stakeholders
∎ Support communications and outreach on issues related to water management and climate change
∎ Coordinate with UP, Paurashava and deconcentrate line agencies at district, upazila and union level on IWRM issues
∎ Support to conduct workshop, training, meetings at UP, Paurashava or with the line agencies at Union, Upazila and district level
∎ Provide strategic technical and policy advice and assistance on all IWRM matters that support the delivery of clean and safe drinking water and emerging IWRM issues and their potential implications.
∎ Assess the requirement of IWRM related interventions in the target areas including procurement and supervision during implementation as well as post implementation monitoring of the interventions.
∎ Coordinate and provide relevant advice to the project and other stakeholders on IWRM issues, including implementation of the relevant solutions
∎ Network and maintain communication with the relevant government representatives of local level for IWRM.
∎ Any other relevant responsibilities assigned by line management
∎ Support the PIU team by providing local insights and data to develop innovative business models and plans regarding IWRM.
∎ Identify potential entrepreneurs and local private sector players in the field of IWRM and initiate engagement efforts with them.
∎ Facilitate and mentor project-supported IWRM entrepreneurs and other private sector players in expanding their businesses.
