Experience:
Perform post-mortem examination of poultry (broiler, layer, breeder)
Diagnose diseases based on clinical signs, history, and lab findings
Conduct laboratory tests:
Hematology
Microbiology (bacterial culture, sensitivity test)
Parasitology
Serology (ELISA, rapid kits)
Interpret lab results and prepare diagnostic reports
Maintain proper sample collection, labeling, and storage system
Monitor common poultry diseases:
Newcastle Disease
Avian Influenza
Infectious Bursal Disease
Maintain disease database and trend analysis
Early detection and reporting of outbreak risks
Visit farms for clinical diagnosis and investigation
Provide treatment and vaccination recommendations
Support farm biosecurity implementation
Assist in feed-related health issues (toxicity, deficiency, contamination)
Ensure lab biosecurity protocols are strictly followed
Implement hygiene and sanitation SOPs
Support compliance with GMP, HACCP, and biosafety standards
Monitor cross-contamination risks in lab operations
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly diagnostic reports
Maintain lab records and test logs
Document case history and treatment outcomes
Coordinate with production, nutrition, and quality teams
Conduct small-scale trials on disease control
Evaluate vaccine efficacy and field performance
Support continuous improvement in diagnostic techniques
Train farm staff on disease prevention and biosecurity
Conduct awareness sessions on poultry health management
Assist in internal audits and training programs
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
Registration with Veterinary Council (if applicable)
2–5 years in poultry diagnostic lab or poultry farming
Experience in disease diagnosis and lab operation preferred
Strong knowledge of poultry diseases and vaccines
Laboratory testing and diagnostic skills
