Responsibilities & Context: Job Summary: The Executive-IR is responsible for maintaining smooth industrial relations by ensuring compliance with labor laws, managing worker grievances, supporting disciplinary processes, and maintaining communication between management and workers.
The role ensures a positive work environment and prevents labor unrest through proactive engagement.
- Ensure all disciplinary actions are handled fairly, consistently, and in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
- Support the IR & Compliance function in maintaining discipline, order, and good employee relations across the factory.
- Assist management in preventing labor unrest through proactive communication and effective grievance handling.
- Maintain updated documentation and reporting related to disciplinary cases and IR issues.
- Promote an atmosphere of mutual respect, compliance, and cooperation among workers and management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build effective communication channels between management and workers.
- Conduct counseling sessions for workers on behavioral or performance issues.
- Support welfare activities such as grievance redressal, attendance issues, and workplace concerns.
- Maintain attendance, turnover, grievance registers, misconduct reports, and counseling records.
- Draft and issue show cause letters, warning letters, charge sheets, suspension, and termination letters as per the disciplinary policy.
- Conduct or assist in domestic inquiries and investigations following allegations of misconduct.
- Collect facts, statements, and evidence from relevant departments to ensure transparent case handling.
- Maintain disciplinary records, investigation reports, and hearing minutes in an organized and confidential manner.
- Prepare and update reports on disciplinary cases, absenteeism, and other IR indicators for management review.
- Assist in the grievance handling process, ensuring timely resolution and proper documentation.
- Observe and report behavioral patterns, absenteeism, or misconduct trends to recommend preventive actions.
- Coordinate with line management and supervisors on maintaining discipline and adherence to factory rules.
- Participate in employee communication and awareness sessions related to discipline and labor laws.
- Coordinate with local labor offices, industrial police, fire services, and BGMEA/BKMEA when required.
- Support audit teams (social compliance, buyers, law enforcement).
